Name a fandom (book/movie/video game/animanga/TV show), pretty much anything, whether you know it's one of mine or not, and ask my opinions on it.
Man, holidays are over. BRB, sobbing in a corner.

As for the other characters. Chizu is awesome. Ayane also, but not as much as Chizu. With Ryu it's kind of odd because normally I can't stand the "palo" character, but I do like him and ship him with Chizu.
Kazehaya is cute, his crush is cute as hell, but it really irks me that we never see him outside interactions with her or Ryu or the classmates. Because he keeps saying he's not as nice as Sawako, and I'm worrying this is not modesty and he means it, and what if it's a facade and there's a bad side of him and. Aaaaa, maybe I worry too much. But srsly, we never get to know him personally that well.

I'm going to be honest here: I've read it. I neither love it or hate it, it's just to pass the time. I take it as satire, and I much rather the random strips than the WW2 disaster (it's not that it's too offensive, but both the Axis AND the Allies annoy me equally). Is it funny? It's hit or miss, really. Some are quite funny, some are just embarrassing and wtf.
I never talked about it here for one reason you can deduce from above: I find several popular characters annoying, so I might anger some ljfriends. I do like some characters a whole lot (when taken as characters instead of representation of a nation), but they're minor -as in, not Axis or Allies; I doubt there's such a thing as minor something here. To make things worse, I'm grossed out by every canon-hinted or popular pairing but one (and it's a het one lol). So yeah, not touching that fandom ever. I'm there for a couple of lulz when I'm really bored, not history or teh buttsecks or the fandom (eww).
And I wish one of my fandoms had a creator who did request sketches in their blog like this dude. SO MUCH.
Bonus: these anthropomorphic countries (http://humon.deviantart.com/gallery/#Scandinavia-and-the-World) are slightly funnier.

I'm going to be honest here. While I like it a whole lot, I haven't gone past the first anime season. I keep postponing it because I don't want to end it. Now that I've forsaken XXXHOLiC, I have little canons to fit for my quirky one-shot Japanese legend fix. I know I'm being silly and should finish the second season already, but...
As characters go, Natsume is adorable, neither too grumpy nor too nice, acting equally to humans and youkai. I might be alone in this, but I don't find the human characters like Tanuma and Natori as interesting as everyone else -then again, I don't ship in this fandom and I believe Natsume needs good friends before buttsecks. They're pretty good for secondary characters, but I still can't seem to care much. The youkai are more endearing. I think I was the same with HOLiC, now that I think about it.

Well, that's understandable. I feel the same way about a few other series that I just like too much to finish - Gaiman's Sandman, for instance. There's always the manga though, it's still ongoing and the scanlations have reached rather far by now too. Also, I'm still hoping for a third anime season, but I don't know how high the hopes are for that.
I agree that Natsume is an adorable character. And yes, the youkai are indeed intriguing, they're all such unique creatures. I have to say that I love the human characters as well though - I found Tanuma a little boring at first, but after reading the later volumes I've started to like him more. Taki is a wonderful character too. As for Natori, I think he makes quite an interesting contrast to Natsume (with his dislike for youkai and his rather brutal methods to fight them, I mean), so I like the interactions between them even though I can't say that it's in a very shippy way. The story focuses mostly on friendship anyway, and I wouldn't want it to be any different.
