I'm pretty sure you asked me about the Mushishi stories before, and I had a horrible time remembering/deciding. Because I have no DVDs or manga here to agonize over that again, I decline until my far future rewatch XD

Oddly, my favorite arcs are Nue and Umibouzu, and for that I blame the ambiance and details more than anything. If it were for characters or pretty imagery I should've liked Nopperabou better because it's objectively the best arc to me, but somehow I like the other two better.

Probably it's the two scenes in Ark of Yamato: in the one when he talks to Issun about resolution and puts him into perspective, I know he's kind of an asshole like always, but it's so pivotal and it shows he's trying to help Issun and Ammy in his own obnoxious ways of Stupid Wizard Onmyouji; it's serious and sad, but not without his dorkiness and douchebaggery. The second, the confrontation with Yami, is just nerve/heart-breaking; he shows a side of himself that he hadn't before, a side no free of accumulated regrets and guilt, but also helped by a courage and trust that seems unlikely.

Oh, totally his first fight with Wrath. His angry conversation with Bradley about what it means to be a king and not leaving his retainers ever was just fucking amazing ♥ I have a soft spot for princes/princesses who care too much about their people.

...and this all reminds me how crushed he was when Fu died, so brb getting all depressed again T_T

Can't answer that. It's been one million years since I last gave a fuck or heard any news about it. Also, I don't read fandom_wank anymore and no one from my flist makes posts about anything Bleach. All I think is that Kubo Tite is an awful mangaka and he should throw his Japanese-English and Japanese-Spanish dictionaries at once.
