Haruhi is offered to study aboard for a year (read in Bandit Keith voice) IN AMERICA. I guess the mangaka picked Boston because it's an academic city.

Huh, I didn't really think of Boston as being academic, though in retrospect it probably is, as it has two prestigious colleges and several museums. Mostly I think of it as a rather old-feeling city with a lot to do (like, NYC Aged Lite) and FUCKING NEMESIS what most people consider to be Massachusetts.

It's pretty much an ending chapter, the point was getting Haruhi away from school and showing her desire to learn and grow as a person, not showing her new life. She picked a random city that made sense; she could've gone to New York or L.A. or any other huge city and the result would've been the same since this is not what the mangaka intends. Actually, I'm glad she didn't. There was no point to elaborate on the city they're staying in if the plot ends with their arrival. We don't see much of France and it's way more important to the plot. Why should we see Boston? This manga is targeted to Japanese girls, not fuck yeah! American nerds.

I think that Bosco meant that Kyouya COULD have had a crush on Haruhi but he decided to cut that from the nip since Tamaki before anything and anyone else.And also because he and Kaoru have a thing on the side.

I do hope he meant he stopped liking her ASAP, because the idea of yet another host liking her is way too much, plus I'd feel really sorry for him. LOLOLOL, because of you I can't unsee the pairing as behind-the-scene canon

I think it can be interpreted in many ways: friendship (club), selflessness, using his creepy megane powers for good, becoming less classist, being less uptight. True, all of that began with Tamaki, but having a middle-class friend who brings a new perspective could help a lot. But I'm sure that whatever that is, it's in the character growth department.

No, worse then and the reason why I hope he does mean friendship or something cheesy. IDK, the fact he's looking at Tamaki doesn't exactly mean strict friendship either. Especially since their bromance is so meaningful, that it can be interpreted as UST depending on the fan. And mind you, if the interpretation can be "ah yeah, I sort of liked that chick, but the precious thing is HOW I'M SO GAY FOR TAMAKI AND I'M HAPPY IF HE'S HAPPY" and then he's Tomoyo Daidouji and that's several kinds of worst to me, and CLICHÉ FAIL.
