taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Okami / bloom for praise)

My God, how is it 5:30 am already

Okay, hi to everyone from the Okami friending meme! Nice to meet you. I swear I'm not as scary/dull as I may seem. And despite of listing many pairings, I'm pretty much vanilla. But yeah, favorite video game of all time for me is that one.

Meh, I wanted to peek over the Yuletide fics despite of not participating this year, but it won't open at all. Buuuuuummer.

Hmmm, what else? Ah, yes! I should start responding old memes, so if anyone wants a free icon from me, please go here. Maybe I'll begin before January 6th, hopefully :D /lazy bastard

And you know what I want to revive? My blog, Nectarade. And the Iliad reading. I actually had the next chapter half done since forever, but it was a good one and I wanted to make it justice with decent jokes, so I had a writer's block. Then my hard drive DIED. But yeah, I'll retake it. Gotta take advantage of my new reader coming with copies of The Iliad and The Odyssey (using Greek names and not Roman, thanks.) It also brought Virgil's Aeneid and Hesiod's Theogony, but the latter has a really lousy translation (Gaea gave birth to the GIANT OREOS?! I don't even XDDD)

Hi! I feel like I'm a really dull person outside of friending memes but I HOPE WE CAN BE BROS ANYWAY

The Iliad and The Odyssey are both so excellent, as is the Aeneid, so I would definitely be reading those! (I've actually only ever received detailed summaries on all three and read a small bit of the Iliad...)

obviously giant oreos had to come from somewhere, silly

Same! Nice to meet you!

I normally can't get into long epics or war dramas, so I was reading The Iliad for the lulz because as a mythology geek I felt I should know my Homer beyond one-chapter summaries in textbooks. So I started this experiment (http://rainmage.livejournal.com/tag/the%20iliad), to make a lulzy review/MST of each chapter as I went. It's mostly full of jokes and calling everyone a douchebag.

I thought the god/dess of Oreos, giant and small, would be called Nabisco o_o

Making fun of things is the way to go, bro.

Nabisco is a sobriquet for Gaea. EVIDENTLY

Oh snap, my whole childhood eating Gaea's goods. Praise Mother Earth, pass the milk!

...Or maybe she founded the company. Ooh, and perhaps Nike DID found, uh, Nike. And Hermes is CEO of Hermés handbags. Wait, I'm going offtopic again.

Pleasure is mine, hi!

No problem, I was just amused to see someone digging that fanart as much as I did, so I had to share :D

Yuletide's opening for me now? Try this link (http://archiveofourown.org/static/collections/yuletide2010/fandoms)?

Thanks, but I already found the static archive on the LJ comm.

...Sadly, there wasn't fic of the characters/pairings I wanted to read about. So I'm not in a hurry to read anymore even if there's fic of my fandoms, as it's not that relevant to my interests or it's things that I love but see every single Yuletide anyway.

Yeah, I looked it over, got excited about a few fandoms, then the fic summaries were a let-down. Ah well, at least I got to watch DW's A Christmas Carol.
