Y giiiira la noria como loca
Good thing that my uncle's trip to Caracas fucked up our plans to go to Madrid. I've had a cold for days and it's snowing over there, so... yeah. I'm still disappointed, but I'm used to never traveling anywhere because my life sucks. Anyway.
Finished the fourth gym. Let's go with the team first.
→ male Dewott (Yoshitsune)
→ female Munna (Almudena)
→ male Darumaka (Darío)
→ male Cottonee (Tony)
→ male Blitzle (Zeus)
→ female Tranquill (Prue)
→ male Timburrlake (Justin)
→ male Sandile (Sandro)
So I switched the Pansear for a Darumaka in the fire department because it was cooler (I like Darumakas with their ugliness, sue me). The Purrloin outlived her useful life now that I have a Sandile, but she's cute anyway (and I caught a Liepard with better stats so yeah.)
I beat Lenore's gym after a lot of pain with teh Timburrlake. Immediately after, Team Plasma steals a giant fossil skull. Despite being fucking obvious that it's a Dragonite's. I don't know, guys, but if I saw a giraffe skeleton I'd knew it's a fucking giraffe despite living in a different continent! I know Dragonites are rare, but that's ridiculous as this is a civilization with photography and TV and Internet.
Oh, and the Spanish translation fucked it up, as the goons talked about LORD N in FRONT of the main character. Suddenly the character looks dumb for following N to the ferris wheel. Oh LOL, translations.
I like that Burgh and Lenore are friends, despite being so different! Hell, I like the fact that I meet some gym leaders before I go to their gyms. Actually, the only leaders I'm bleh about are what I call the Mazorca Trio. They're kinda there. Everyone else by now has a defining personality and has done something cool or kind with the character and their friends.
I like Burgh too, and it's a pity that his face gets so bishified in fanart/anime because his strange features are endearing, in a Matt Smith or Benedict Cumberbatch sort of way. He feels very eccentric British stuck in the 70's.
Also, Castelia city is amazingly well done! I was all starry-eyed at the bridge animation, especially because I went at night *_____* This game has really neat animations with the backgrounds and stuff.
Wow, Team Plasma, you're made of stupid :'D And Ghetsis is all lip service, because the coward returns Bianca's Munna as soon as he's confronted with a bunch of kinds and one gym leader. It was a bizarre scene, seeing them in a normal building with the cosplay outfits XD
I also did the Victini thing this morning. It was incredibly easy.
Following, a lot of grinding inGround Zero the desert, and I clinged to my new Sandile because I needed ground for the next gym. To my despair, his one physical ground move didn't affect Emolgas. Guess what Elesia has, and even two of them! FUCKING EMOLGAS. That gym was a mess of potions and soft drinks. I even broke out one ether when I ran out of dark attacks. FUCKING EMOLGAS.
But I'm getting ahead. So I enter the next city and Bianca is upstairs, and N is in the park, and SHIT I'M SURROUNDED LET ME EXPLORE FIRST. Which I do, but as soon as I get beyond the sport stadiums, Bianca drags me to the fucking musicals. Is there a point to that minigame? Do they give me a decent award that's not more accessories if I do well? Dewott in a top hat is cute and all, but I'm not doing it again.
And then Bianca confronts her dad! My respect for the girl went so up ♥ It's obvious she's trying hard and she's been working on her confidence, so I think her journey is very positive for her. And I fangirled Elesa a lot when she butted in to put the dad in his place (that she and Iris helped and inspired Bianca is pretty awesome). Oh, and incidentally, I laughed at how Cheren knew that it was the kids' moms who planned the entire journey with Juniper. But eh, they wanted to go anyway so...
Okay so, the Ferris Wheel scene? From the fanarts and all I expected something more epic, a much cooler conversation, but it's barely two lines up there. Must've been awkward. At least this fight was harder than the other two. It's interesting that N isn't convinced that he'll beat MC, that he KNOWS that s/he's stronger than him (duh, three defeats so far) and isn't all RARR YOU SUCK BALLS SMELL YA LATER like most rivals/villains. Yet he tries to change the future anyway to protect others. But at the same time, it's pretty obvious he respects MC and wants to become their friend (even says so, like he's 7 years old... which IS probably his mental age anyway). I think this is the part where N starts being more interesting than LOL BITCH IS CRAZY.
Meanwhile, Ghetsis did accidentally imply in the big city that he's using the hero and legendary. N says he's the leader because Ghetsis asked him, and when you consider their relation I have to wonder how that happened. Like, he asked him over lunch or something? I also find myself trying to separate which grunt orders were issued by whom. Obviously Victini must've been Ghetsis. The dragon skull was stolen right after N visited the museum, so that one was him (did you notice that he seems to be kinda into science). But who came up with the stealing random Pokémon from their owners? Since they keep them, and N isn't stealing others and seems to be pro-releasing his friends, it might be Ghetsis behind it, and N approved the orders without knowing the whole thing. This is all fascinating food for thought, I tell you.
Um, I think that's it. I still haven't tried the dream thing because I'm getting server errors. I wonder if it's something global or just me.

The gym leaders sound so interesting and fun this time around, now that they actually leave their gyms and have better-developed personalities! It really complements Bianca and Cheren's take on rivals, since the player ends up with something resembling a real world.
Re: the Ferris wheel scene: you know, there was a secret on F!S a few days back that called N's relationship with the protagonist a greater love story than anything the secret-maker had none. It's funny how far the fans can take even a few lines.

Yeah, in this gen I can understand that someone honestly likes a gym leader from the game and not an anime/manga. We're not going to fool ourselves, most times the liking comes from character designs or types of Pokémon they use *pokes her bookmarked fanart :|* Cheren and Bianca are great, fun rivals.
Well, it is fandom, people can ship for less! Especially in these games. Hell, I've shipped for less: I'm into Morty/Eusine and they only mention they're bros, but at least it's lots more than Morty/Faulkner. But returning to this game, actually I can buy that N may have a huge crush on the protagonist, and I see them more plausible as a bromance with silent b than, IDK, Red/Blue or any Gen2MC/Silver. Epic Love Story, however, this is not.
