The CLAMP gears in her room didn't bode well
So Madoka Magica ended. Welp, it's incredible how the most hopeful (literally) possible ending was still pretty much sad anyway. Poor Homura just can't win at life, can she? As cliché as Madoka's I Will Become Godmod Concept sacrifice of sorts felt to me, it was also brilliant in how it broke the QB system by just retconning the whole universe. Well played, girl. In short, I didn't get attached like everyone else, but it was, uh, an interesting thing to watch overall.
I... have been watching some anime of this season, but while some are entertaining or intriguing, there isn't a show that really grabbed me and made me think "I'm so watching this till the end!" I should probably finish second seasons of shows I liked, like Sengoku Basara and Arakawa Under the Bridge.
In non-anime news, I also started watching The Almighty Johnsons because I'm still in my Norse mythology butchery kick, and I'll gladly read/watch/play almost anything with references to that pantheon. The first episode was okay. The torrents are pretty slow, though. And I have to get used to the Kiwi accent.
Yaaaaaay, tomorrow Doctor Who!

sengoku basara always sounded like something i might like (is set in the warring states period? yeah, that's my thing), but i don't know. mmm.
i was alse planning on brushing up on norse mythology this weekend so i can enjoy all the LULZ of "thor" properly - but i got a bit distracted re-reading "sandman". that happens.
DOCTOR WHO TOMORROW OMG YAY!

I've actually read some Thor comics for the lulz at one time (what do you mean they're rebuilding Asgard in the sky of Oklahoma?! I-- geez, Marvel) so at least my mind can't mind boggle much (over the myth butchery, at least... I'll miss the characters in the comic I liked) if I ever catch that movie.
YAY WHO!

I take it as silly as an anime based on a plotless videogame based in history should be
well, as a fan of meine liebe i can't judge that sort of thing, ha ha.
I haven't read the Thor comics since I was a kid and my father supplied me with them. I remember so little that I won't have any idea of what kind of shit is going down in the movie - which looks ridiculous but I want to see asap because I have a weird thing about superhero movies and yes, I'm ashamed of that.

It's amazing how Japan is so willing to take its historical heroes and make crack versions of them over and over and over. And I do mean amazing in a good way.
I read the most recent series of Thor a couple of years ago, he had been recently resurrected him so I don't know how much of old versions it had. It does saddens me a little that in the movie there won't be Donald Blake, his doctor alter ego and Marvel's resident Yukito Tsukishiro. It was the only interesting part going on with Marvel!Thor as a character, meanwhile the other characters take his spotlight in his own title. Movie!Thor is all like "graaaar US military graaaar oh hi Natalie Portman" or something, and it looks pretty dull.

Also, when anime series make statements, they're usually bland, stupid, or they try to get philosophical but they're usually some combination of:
YAMI KOKORO HIKARI SHINJITE MAMORU and then MINDFUCK.
This series? It ended not making a statement. It ended up deciding "fuck it" and, frankly, I'm cutting my loses and celebrating that.
MEANWHILE
Walpurgis Night? Oh man that was FUN. I for one welcome my carnivale witch apocalypse.
Cue totally-anticlimatic Madoka icon
