Not ANOTHER high school math weekend!

Comment with any ship (romantic or platonic or maybe even non-existent!) from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about, and I will rant about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.

I'm... okay with it? I know I SHOULD ship it because it's snarky and nakama-ish and I knew it was going to be canon and stuff, but somehow I can't really go and get into it. I've been thinking about it, and I've come to the conclusion that this is Harry Potter all over again. I was always unable to ship Harry with anyone, and while I saw the two main canon ships coming I never truly ship-ship them. Equally, I don't exactly ship Percy with Annabeth or anyone else (Rachel, Thalia, Luke, Nico, anyone at all). I suspect it might be because, as much as they grow up, I still met him and Harry when they were 11-12 and they're kinda baby brother figures forever to me?

Plus, I'm a little resented because when I checked the fandom out in my hype, so many people are all about Percybeth (or other ships with Percy, really) while I want to talk/read about GEN STUFF. Fuck shipping, I'm in for the adventures and characters and myth butchery.

I'll repeat part of my rant at Lau 8D

I have a problem with Percy, and it's the same problem I had with Harry Potter (the character). I can't ship them for real for my life. I can see the canon ships coming and all, and why people ship the non-canon ones even when I don't agree with the subtext they see. But ship-ship them with someone myself? I can't. I suspect it might be because, as much as they grow up, I still met him and Harry when they were 11-12 and they're kinda baby brother figures forever to me?

That said, I would've been alright with it if they had become canon (although I was sure it was a temporary triangle to spice things up). Mostly because Rachel is awesome and brought an interesting option, but what happened with her by the end rocks much more because MY APOLLONIAN SEER PINGS (apparently I had those, who knew?).

Aaaaw. XD I understand that. And Rachel is indeed awesome x3

I thought I'd never ship the Doctor with a companion (or at least a human companion, because I get the feeling I'd like Four/Romana). But there's just something about River and the way she interacts with Eleven that won me hard as soon as I met her. She's fabulous and mysterious and playful and a gray-area trickster, therefore a kind of person the Doctor doesn't handle much often, which made the first meetings hilarious because she had the upper hand. It might be an unpopular opinion but I love to see characters in similar (or better) levels to the Doctor. But once he gets used to her, he joins the teasing and flirting and it's several kinds of awesome. Then we get to hear River's story and feelings, and I'm still picking the pieces of my heart from the floor. But even if it's heart-breaking, it's fun and full of banter at the same time. So yeah, I ship it like Fedex.

MY FEELINGS EXACTLY! I never could ship the Doctor with anybody but the Tardis and then River came along and River and Eleven just. clicked so much and THEIR INTERACTION WAS AMAZING and now I can't not ship them aaaaaaaaa ;a;

Not in the fandom, so I don't know either if it's unpopular or not, but I like that too. :p
