He's such a pain in the... needle.

Little CCS/HOLiC fic.

"Oh, hello, Yuuko! I didn't expect you so early in the morning," he said, his eyes still on his work.

"I was suddenly woken up by a client. Since I had nothing else to do, I came." She sat by his side on the sofa, alarmingly close. He still didn't look at her, busy with the stitches.

"You know," she added, with a seductive voice, "I was feeling so lonely and cold..."

"Then make me company while I sew this shirt," replied Clow. "Do you think this thread is too dark for the fabric colour?". He raised the clothes to the light. "I didn't have a lighter blue left... Oh well, that'll do." And he continued.

She sighed. Yuuko would never understand that man, he was impossible. It was time to be more obvious.

"You know what I'm craving, Clow darling?"

"The booze is in the usual place, help yourself." Unfortunately for her, Clow had to thread the needle. He pulled some inches from the reel, cut it with his teeth, put the tip between his sensual lips, wet it a little, and made it pass through the needle's eye. Great, just what she needed when she was horny: an oblivious innuendo! And not made by her!

Lucky needle. Now she really needed the drink.

"No, you fool, that's not it," she said, exasperated by his absentmindedness. She leaned closer, and whispered in his ear. "I want a kiss."

He stopped immediately. He smiled, sheepishly, at her.

"Why didn't you said it before? All right." Yuuko closed her eyes, and prepared to the facial contact with the magician. But instead, she felt his hands in hers, opening her fists. Oh well, she thought, he must like to hold hands while kissing. Any moment now...

"There you go."

"Huh? What are you tal...?"

There was no kiss. In her palm, a small, shiny, metal object laid. She glanced at it, puzzled.

"A thimble?! What happened with my kiss!"

"That's your 'kiss'," explained Clow, restraining a laugh.

"Are you mocking me?" Now Yuuko was annoyed. And still, he was grinning.

"Sorry, I couldn't help it, I had to make the joke. It was a tad bad."

"I know your sense of humour is rather peculiar, but this one I don't get."

"Oh, sure, I didn't think about it. It's from a play I saw the last time I went to London. I guess Japanese people haven't heard about Peter Pan."

"No, who's that? I'm not sure I can understand anyone who confuses kisses with thimbles."

"Well, he was a boy, so it's understandable. An eternal child who would never grow up."

"Is that even possible in real life?," she inquired.

"If you're a crafty sorcerer, of course you can. Just stop your aging at the latest moments of your childhood, and you're all set. Quite easy."

"I see some inconveniences to your theory," she argued. "For aging freezing, as you know quite well since you're doing it, you need not only a great power, but a great knowledge in that subdivision of magic, which is rather complicated. And by the time you have learned how to do it, you're too old to be considered a kid anymore. It can be done in Cephiro, for instance, by willpower, but certainly not in this world."

He wasn't appalled from the woman's opinion. Instead, he was smiling in some sort of evil and confident way. He put his chin in his hand, and narrowed his sparkling eyes. She was torn between feeling freaked out or turned on.

"Ah, I see your point, but I disagree with you. An eternal child can exist in this world, without a doubt. If the person is born with the necessary amount of power and knowledge, that is."

"You see? The power is innate, but the knowledge isn't! You're contradicting yourself."

"I can do it," he affirmed, enigmatically. "As a matter of fact, I will do it."

"You wacko, you're not exactly a child. You don't know what you're saying anymore."

"I wasn't talking about stopping my growth, Yuuko. I'm referring to kisses."

Then the wizard touched the enchantress' lips with his for three seconds, sweetily. She blinked in surprise and delight.

"Is that what you wanted?" He beamed at her.

"... um, yeah." She admitted, drunken by the kiss, forgetting about the rest of the conversation.

"Good, then can I have my thimble back?" He moved his open hand forward.

"Of course not, you moron! Now is mine!"

*giggles* That's not quite how I see Yuuko, but that was very funny. Love the foreshadowing to Eriol.

Well, for plot bunny reasons, she's a little OOC. But still, she can be like that, I think.

... and hornier.

But in canon, they bickered. There are proofs in the Mokona Modoki book, actually. Yuuko wasn't all convinced on the names Clow gave to them. And so on.

[identity profile] etrangere.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I can definitly see them bickering. What i'm uneasy about here is, Clow's got the upper hand, he's the one messing with her head. I don't see Yuuko (as she is right now) as being likely to be put easily in that position (which is probably why they bickered ^^)

[identity profile] rainmage.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
But then again, in the actual series, you can only see Yuuko messing teenagers and/or clients' heads. That's such a piece of cake for her.

What would happen if (let's not say Clow here, let's generalize) you put her together with another powerful, clever sorcerer or sorceress who can also drive people mad and likes to surprise the other in orthodox ways? Who would be teh winz?

Hard to say, IMHO.

Somehow I've always assumed Clow was older than Yuuko, I don't know why. Maybe that's why I write Yuuko more exasperated at him than the opposite. She may be patient, but not more than Clow, who's more laid back. I'm sure she's had her victories, but he wouldn't be upset about it, and that'd hurt her pride.

And besides, it would make sense because of her annoyance at the sole memory of him. If she's so angry with him after all these years, I'm certain he really had the upper hand and she can't go on.

Well, i imagine Yuuko and Kaho in the same room, then I imagine all hell breaking loose.

*cough*

which might be why Eriol hasn't tried to see Yuuko again.

I see Clow and Yuuko as equals, it's necessary for the whole yin & yang, equilibrium of powers thing you talked about so well.
Yuuko /isn't/ patient.

The whole annoyance thing makes sense, however I bet he would have a similar memory. That is, sometimes he would win, sometimes she would.

[identity profile] rainmage.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
O_o How did Kaho get into the conversation? Hmmm...

Actually, I have one plot bunny where Kaho and Yuuko actually met and go to a bar. Eriol? He's shaking of fright in the top of the roof of his house, picturing what may both women be talking about him. Poor guy, I'm so cruel to my idol... it's all part of the big London bunny.

... yes, I'm evil. That fiction, when I get to write it, is gonna kill lots of brains.

Kaho entered the conversation as a "powerful, clever sorcerer or sorceress who can also drive people mad and likes to surprise the other in orthodox ways"

Hehe, poor Eriol. Really, if I imagine Kaho and Yuuko meeting each others, I think they'd try being polite with each others for about 2 minutes, then there would be a huge catfight, and when the dust settles, they would be best friend.

But yeah, poor Eriol.

That's not how I picture it, it's more like...

Yuuko: So that bastard reincarnate... -_- I need a drink.
Kaho: I'll join you! ^^

One hour later...

Yuuko: and then Clow blah blah blah...
Kaho: really?! once Eriol and I blah blah blah...
[laughs]

Eriol: [somewhere else] OH MY BLOODY GOD, KILL ME AGAIN, NOW!!!

[Spanish]

Bueno, Nakuru... *glomp*
- A todas éstas, Eriol no aparece.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1... "TÚUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!11"
"Papi! <3" (eh, mejor no)
"Oh, tanto tiempo, Yuuko ^^uuu"
"Ya conocías a Yuuko, Eriol darling?"
"Pues sí y no..."
"Huh?"
"Ooooh, ya entiendo..."
"Entonces explícamelo a mí, Suppi-chan"
"QUÉ RAYOS HACES VIVO, EN ESA FORMA Y CON LA MITAD DE TUS PODERES, CLOW?!"
"Es una larga historia, verás..."
"Clow???? El tipo éste que creó a Mokona contigo? Este mocoso?? No capto nada!!"
"BASTARDO!!!"

Y eso es sólo el primer día.

Re: XD

[identity profile] rainmage.livejournal.com 2004-11-12 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Not physically or psychologically, you know. It's more of a power thing: Touya could also see ghosts and feel things almost nobody else could. That's why Kaho and Nakuru kind of see a tiny bit of Touya in him; not much, just a little.

I'm the one who's going to need drink if you keep writing these fics. Good thing we don't have any. *settles for chocolate*

No, really, I loved it. ^_^ I like Oblivious!Clow, and that's a part of him that isn't usually showed in fics (I blame it on anime-only fics where there's no "Fujitaka side"). Loved the humour and the foreshadowing, Victorian English references always make me happy, and I'm kind of proud of getting what she said about Cephiro. (I have the feeling that if I want to fully get HOLiC I'll have no choice than reading Rayearth, because we don't know anything we need to know about their meeting Mokona yet...)

[identity profile] rainmage.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! ^_^ So glad you like it!

Yep, I'm pretty much proud of my uptake on Clow. The first half of the fic, he's Fujitaka, and the second half, he's Eriol. Because he's not only oblivious!Clow, he's oblivious!sewing!Clow, and that's so Fujitaka-sensei it hurts, yay :D

The Cephiro reference is not that hard. I meant there are two characters who look like kids, but they're quite old. The princess is one, (the one that looks like the Childlike Empress) the other is the a magic master called Clef (who's 745 years old, but appears like he's 8). Funny enough, Clef and Eriol have the same seiyuu XDDDD

I'm dying! I'm stuffing my head into a pillow to smother the gasps of my laughter! Oh... funny!!!

It's so rare that I get to see someone else's Clow; I love you to pieces. The thimble was perfect perfect perfect. And the ending line? Priceless. Plus, this wasn't just pointless fluff. (I liked the turn in the conversation, where Clow is essentially talking about his reincarnation as Eriol.) I thought it was very clever.

Thank you ^o^

I don't even know if I can write pointless fluff. I've never written fluff, actually. As I've never had fluff in my life, I have no idea how to do it. I want to, in some way, but I'm afraid to. Maybe in the next drabble I'll try to do it more romantic.

I don't even know if the tiny kiss was well written. I've never been kissed. XP
