OK, how about this. I've given Yuuko's rubber ducky a name. Now it shall be named...

Mousse

XDD Of course, you won't understand my imbecile joke if you haven't read/watched/had the basic knowledge of Ranma 1/2. Granted, the ducky doesn't look at all like Mousse's duck transformation, but still... It's Mousse itself and linking him to the twisted equation that is XXXHOLiC that's amusing. I can see Yuuko reading Ranma manga and thinking Mousse looks familiar.

You know. The glasses. The dorkiness. The Chinese vibe. He's like a Watanuki/Clow hybrid in some way, you know. And the clothes are so borrowed-from-the-Li-clan.

All righty, back to the Ranma OVAs I downloaded. By the way: Mousse + Tendo's water pond = funny funny XDDDD The little bispectacle duck swimming at the pond amuses me to no end. Yeah, I'm a Mousse fangirl. And a Ryouga fangirl. Too bad I couldn't watch the actual anime.

So um, yeah, I'll shut up.

Heh, now I'm intrigued about Ranma 1/2. I couldn't really get into it when they showed it here... I was in my "gaah no I'll NEVER watch anime" stage (funny how people change o.O).

That, and my first contact to it were 1)a guy who transformed into some cute animal so girls would hold him against their breasts, and 2)a pervy old guy who collected girls' underwear. So... >_

Well yeah, Ranma is a weird series. Then again, is a typical shounen (lots of girls, martial arts...), just with a lot of comic relief. But I kind of like it, in its own twisted way. I didn't got to see the anime, but it was because the national channel were it was broadcasted put only 5 episodes. The same with CCS ¬¬TTT They're evil... anyway...

I have only see the OVAs and read some manga. Indeed, the main character (who ironically is a macho, ladies' man, kind of guy) transforms into a girl with the contact of cold water, but it's because of a curse. He doesn't like it at all. And sure, there are tons of fanservice, so even if you're wrong you're not so far away from it.

And there're some guys (and a girl) who are also cursed and transform into animals. It's a little WTFish, yeah. One of them is Mousse. He's a Chinese guy with glasses (sounds familiar? well no, he's not Clowish at all... maybe more like Watanuki... maybe) who transforms into a ducky (it could be worse, really...), and is in love with one of Ranma's love interests since he was little. The poor guy gets rejected over and over again. But he's so dorky and short-sighted I'm fond of him.

Oh, and about the clichés:
1) That would be Ryouga, who transforms into a piggy, but it's not for touching breasts. The girl he likes doesn't know it's him and took him as a sort of pet. And sometimes she holds him and hugs the pig... it's not something on purpose.
2) About that one, yes... there's an old perv, and he's so disgusting... -_-U

Looks like I first met Ryouga at the wrong moment then. ^_^ But I wonder what is it with anime and old pervs! There was one in Sailor Moon, and don't get me started about Dragonball... O_O

Maybe it's because there are a lot of old pervs in real life in Japan? Maybe it's some sort of comedy we Western can't understand.

But yeah, Ryouga is a sweetheart, not a perverted at all ^^ He just has the worst luck ever. And he gets carried away in the worst kind of situations (like the girl she loves wants to bathe with her "innocent" pig without knowing it's actually her male friend O_o)

Ryoga is a darling, & I can totally relate to his "no sense of direction". ^__^

Have to add that Happosai, the old perv, I find hillarious...with the out-sized swag-bag stuffed to overlowing with women's underwear & the hoards of schoolgirls trying to kill him with any blunt instrument they can find, I think it's pretty much fair to say that there's nothing terribly intellectual going on. It's just a joke. *shrug*

Now. Ducky definitely needed a name. "Mousse" will do quite nicely. :) Also, OMG the colourbar! Love it, love it LOVE IT!! Going to stick it in my userinfo as soon as I've finished commenting. :P
