Couple of memes and fic talk
Ugh, what a cold day. It seems one of those days... and there wasn't XXXHOLiC #3 in the book stand (ò____ó).
Anyway, there seem to be so much fanfiction goodness these days <3 First,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
laurus_nobilis fry my brain with the couple I've always wanted to write but never did because I was afraid I'd be called a freak (that, and I identify so much with her I was feeling it was Sueish to pair her up with my favorite male character), and written in a beautiful way. Second, butterflydrming takes her turn on the evil Clow/Yuuko world, with a twist. I *loved* it! I was thinking, a few weeks ago, of writing them meeting each other at a magic council, but it was a different thing and a different time. But I digress. And third, the peacewish's version of teenager!Clow is so refreshing.
Anyway... two memes.
1. Select a fandom.
Card Captor Sakura (it's the easiest to critizice)
2. List and describe five ‘odd’ pet peeves you have in fanfiction regarding it. (Odd pet peeves meaning, minor things that wouldn’t bug most people… but do so you.).
- Assuming Eriol/Tomoyo is canon, or at least the only possibility. And now we're at it, making Tomoyo loving Eriol since forever and/or viceversa.
- How fangirls think no CCS fanfiction is complete without SS and ET and fluff. There are other genres and other characters/pairings, you know.
- When they make the characters move in the author's country for no reason at all. Without them learning a new language, they just KNEW it.
- punk!Syaoran, sk8erboy!Syaoran, goth!Syaoran, rockstar!Syaoran; almost always in contrast with popular!Sakura, topmodel!Sakura, singeridol!Sakura, richgrrl!Sakura.
- Homophobic authors who forget, or want to forget, some characters love/loved certain characters of their own sex, for the sake of their OTP.
- Use of dub names. "Sakura loves Li so Madison helps them to be together." Ugh.
- Crossovers with series that have no sense. With the CLAMPverse, that's OK. But a CCS/Inuyasha fic is ridiculous. And there are too many HP/CCS crossovers (I've sinned about that one, but as soon as the trend intensified, I *stopped*)
- Lack of fiction about secondary and/or dead characters.

Every time I check my flist, so almost daily.

That we're from South America, we share a lot of fandoms, we like to make theories... and we laugh at each other's jokes, which I guess is saying something.

What bugs me about HP crossovers is that they're all the same, and make no sense. Harry and co. are a little busy fighting Voldemort to play Dawson's Creek with their new cool friends. ¬_¬ But the worst part is, there are so many possibilities for HP/CCs crossovers!
What if the two Trios meet each other *after* the war? What if Eriol or Kaho get some English colleagues? What if Nakuru has a catfight with Fleur because she's been stalking Bill Weasley? What if Clow ever was a Divination professor? What if that Su Li girl from Ravenclaw is Shaoran's distant cousin?
...what if I stop giving myself plot bunnies? >_
