You know, my biggest gripe with Kakyou/Hokuto shippers is that they tend to just declare that Hokuto loved Kakyou back, passing off their personal fanon preferences as canon. So I gotta applaud that you actually make note of the fact that Hokuto didn't have time to develop romantic feelings for Kakyou. ^_^

Wow, coming from someone who ships the opposite, I'll take it as a compliment ^^

Of course, considering my main non-anime fandom is Harry Potter, I often get sick of people who assume their ship is canon, so I don't like to force canon into my OTPs because I feel I'm like them. Ugh.

Harry Potter fandom is hell that way. I'll read the occasional Sirius/Remus fic, but generally I just stay FAR away from it. ^^;;

Great essay. I love your description of both characters. I like the idea that they met during those three monthes, it's an interesting idea.

By the way, I wanted to recc one fic to you when you asked for them... it's not a KakyouxHokuto one as such, but it's the best Hokuto fic i've read and there's a Kakyou presence in it IIRC... however i couldn't find it fast and then forgot. Do you still want me to try to find it ?

No rush, as I was in a hurry and I posted the whole essay without fic recs. I was supposed to post the thing on the 7th. It was almost a week later, so I sacrificed a lot of things to post in it.
