I just discovered something.

bizarro (Spanish) =/= bizarre (English)

I had believed bizarro was the translation of bizarre all my life, and it turns out it's not just that they don't mean the same. They even have almost opposite meanings! Being bizarro is a good thing: it means you're gallant or magnanimous. It doesn't make you weird or eccentric.

God, was I wrong.

I personally blame it on the Superman cartoons' dub.

ETA: In other news, I need the shiny new FMA manga chapter, like, right now.

Dude, I didn't even know that, and I'm in Spanish III O_o However, as a native English speaker, I do admit that English mad fucking confusing ^.^;;

I'm still saying it's Superman's fault. They never translated in Spanish the name Bizarro, so I assumed since I was little that the word bizarro in Spanish meant weird or odd.

In confusing issues, I still think Spanish pwns English. I wouldn't like to learn Spanish as a non-native language; it just can't be easy. But you'll tell me ^^u

If you think about it, Spanish is pretty simple; strict rules for everything and few condradictions. However, I find it... tedious... to learn. Also, I pity all who learn English *still has no idea what a fucking adjective is*

Haha. I still think English is easier than Spanish, though. It has less verb conjugations, for one. I'd dread to memorize things like irregular verbs.

I agree, verbs in english are waaaay easier than spanish, but some grammar structures in english are too confusing XDD btw, I also thought bizarro meant the same as bizarre... :-/ mira tu que cosas...

Really? I think English verbs (to a non-native speaker) would have been harder, since there are so many exceptions (and not really one standard set of verb endings), like.. I eat, I ate, I swim, I swam, I sink I sank I sunk, I fly, I flew.. etc.

But the past and past participle is the same for every grammatical person. In Spanish, you have to learn six forms for each verb time (present, past, past participle...), opposed to max four verb forms per verb, MAX.

Haha, no, I see your point now. You're right in that sense, I just wonder if it might seem more difficult because of all the irregulars.
