I just discovered something.

bizarro (Spanish) =/= bizarre (English)

I had believed bizarro was the translation of bizarre all my life, and it turns out it's not just that they don't mean the same. They even have almost opposite meanings! Being bizarro is a good thing: it means you're gallant or magnanimous. It doesn't make you weird or eccentric.

God, was I wrong.

I personally blame it on the Superman cartoons' dub.

ETA: In other news, I need the shiny new FMA manga chapter, like, right now.

Just to make it even more confusing - 'bizarro' can be used in english as slang of 'bizarre' - and still mean exactly the same thing

Then I'll just use bizarro in Spanish with italics, and say I'm using an English word. There. Solved.
