I just discovered something.

bizarro (Spanish) =/= bizarre (English)

I had believed bizarro was the translation of bizarre all my life, and it turns out it's not just that they don't mean the same. They even have almost opposite meanings! Being bizarro is a good thing: it means you're gallant or magnanimous. It doesn't make you weird or eccentric.

God, was I wrong.

I personally blame it on the Superman cartoons' dub.

ETA: In other news, I need the shiny new FMA manga chapter, like, right now.

Haha, false cognates get us (Spanish-learners), too. Like some people thought un rato was "a rat".. ^^;
