taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Yuuko / Magnolia scent)

You live, you learn

Infinity artbook is tempting me *eye twitches*

I'm not liking the seasonal LJ look, unlike Halloween's. It's too colorful and clustered. And it looks bad in 800x600.

Last night, I was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] ruki_elric about the FMA fandom, and we started talking about pet shipping for some reason. We were surprised they haven't moved on to the animals yet. Like, Black Hayate/any animal or Xiao Mei/Al's kitties. I said Black Hayate would be the fandom's bicycle, whored by anyone with anyone. Some het shippers would be crossing fingers for Den and Black Hayate meeting each other in actual canon, age differences aside, while crazy yaoi fangirls would write Alexander (Nina's dog)/"Buraha" noncon sexxorz. Of course, we were kidding around because it's so scary.

But this morning, I see the manga calendar scans again (if you want to see them all, check here), and I remember that conversation again as I see Den and Hayate posing in images there. Ruki, Hayate/Den is so canon! XDD Check April! And December! But especially, see June!! XDDD

*sighs* Anyway...

Again, some mp3 sharing! This month, some old Alanis Morissette songs that remind me of XXXHOLiC. You should really check them out, even if it's for the lyrics.

Artist: Alanis Morissette
Song: You learn
Genre: Rock ballad, really cracky yet thoughtful
Notes: Okay, everything in this song can be applied to XXXHOLiC. No, actually, the song summarizes the whole series very well, especially the chorus. Dude. Just imagine Yuuko singing it (with Mokona, Maru and Moro occasionally meddling it. Mokona yelling "I certainly do!"). Of course, the generic you would be Watanuki.
I'd kill to see a music video with this song. If I knew how, I'd do it myself, with manga images because I can't wait for anime.

Artist: Alanis Morissette
Song: All I really want
Genre: Rock, more agressive than the others
Notes: A really random song, It's not as accurate as the other one, but some paragraphs are really HOLiC-centered. Most of them from Yuuko's side, but a couple of ones from Watanuki's. Some parts could be interpreted as D/W or C/Y.

And an extra one, for [livejournal.com profile] the_great_elk.

Artist: Alanis Morissette
Song: Head over feet
Genre: Rock ballad, romantic
Notes: Not HOLiC this time, but Touya/Yukito! It's about someone who slowly fell in love with her best friend. This one would be great for a TouYuki FST. I can just imagine them singing it as a duet. Except for the first paragraph; that would be Yue's.
The only thing that won't fit is "you treat me like I'm a princess". I have flashbacks of dragqueen!Cinderella!Touya XD

Thank you for the songs! Jagged Little Pill was one of the first CDs that I ever bought and yet I totally passed over it in my quest to find xxxholic songs. x.x I love how Head Over Feet is a T/Y song.

Thanks for the link to the FMA calendar scans as well. :3 *should catch up with the manga already*

You're welcome ^^

I just happened to browse through old CDs, and while I was listening to this one, I was surprised to think side-track.

ROAR. I just realized that I'm at home leeching a bad wireless connection, so I have to wait until tonight when I get back to school with ethernet to download. =(

And I will thank you profusely when I download. XD Thank youuuuuuu~ in advance.

[identity profile] the-great-elk.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, so I gave up and conquered my phone line and downloaded the song, and I love it! It's so awesome. I'm an Alanis Morisette fan to start with, and that song... the lyrics just made my fangirl day. Again. -happy sigh- All right, back to cookies and a depressing football game.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yay, songs! Thanks! *downloads*

The more I look at the FMA calendar, the more I love it. October is too cool X3

Yeah, October is awesome! I'm a sucker for Halloween imagery, though.

You have to give me the reason after listening to You Learn. It fits so much it hurts!

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. I like that song, but I'd never payed attention to the lyrics, and you're so right is scary.

By the way, I always forget to ask you if you saw my post from a while ago with the C/Y and RoyAi (for me, at least) songs...

[identity profile] rainmage.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 12:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. I think I saw it on school labs, but when I got home the post had passed the first friendspage. Must've forgotten about it.

The songs, were they hosted in YSI or Megaupload?

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
YSI, but I can upload them again, I still have them on my hard disk.

Which one's better to upload things, actually? I know both of them have rabid haters...

[identity profile] rainmage.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know, I think both are sucky. But I used MU because it lasts longer and uploads faster.

But really, you don't have to go through all that hassle again for me!

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, it's not too much work. I might do it tomorrow.

...and LJ didn't email this comment. ¬_¬ When are they going to fix things?

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2005-12-04 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
I posted them here. And I hope LJ mails you this comment... *crosses fingers*

[identity profile] toshikun.livejournal.com 2005-12-03 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)

Thank you for the link to "You Learn."

Hahah, be careful what you wish for, the pet shipping my actually catch on. Hmm, who is Den? *forgets* When you said that the first pets I thought of were Black Hayate and Winry's dog. I love Alanis Morissette, when I listen to You Learn and think of holic, it really does remind me of Watanuki. And zomg fma calendar scans, yoy!

ZOMG! Buraha/Den sexx0rs doesn't have a community! WE SHALL MAKE ONE! 'Cause... 'cause... well, there isn't one!!! W00t! kjdfshk!

Aww, thank you! *hugs*

Although, I'm afraid I'm not exactly a supporter of icons with the person's nickname. I'd feel shallow using it. Especially since I hate smoke and cigarrettes as I'm a passive smoker.

omg I can't believe I'm reading a Alanis + CLAMP post *dies*

I luuuuuuuuve Alanis *-* Really !!! All I Really Want is my all time fav of hers *O* I'm so happy to know you like it !

I'm so happy ! But I usually don't mix them both o.O
But then I wanted to find one song too, just for fun, and yes I found one !
It's called Sorry To Myself, is not famous, is in the also not-so-famous Feast on Scraps Album (also on the recently released The Collection)

It sooooooo reflects what Watanukis had just went trough... you know, the whole "stop thinking too much about other people and think a bit about youself", you should really check this one out ^_~
