Beautiful day, not so beautiful karma

I'm, right now, not rolling in a zone of physical pain. That means I'm feeling pretty good until I jinx it.

And thus, with such a nice, sunny Friday, I decided to take a walk downtown after class. I normally don't go outside, so I needed the fresh air. And it was a cute afternoon all and all.

Except for the part in which I stumble to these kiosks, and I discover I decided to walk around just in the middle of the book fair. I totally didn't know about it. To make it worse, the first stand was of a geek library (you know, with SF-fiction novels, comics, graphic novels, manga, anime DVDs... the whole fucking lot).

And how much money did I carry around? Why, 9€! Because I burned my month money in the preciousssssss Okami. I would've headwalled if I could.

Oh, how cute, the stand had a copy of Good Omens in Spanish. I spent so many time looking for you, bitch, and you show up when I don't need you! Screw you and the Alanis irony, I have one in English now, and it was cheaper than you and without literal translations of jokes anyway.

In the end, I survived to the fair without buying anything. It hurt a lot.

Therefore, I stopped by my comic library, which wasn't far away, and I bought one manga (which is what I could afford). I grabbed Mushishi #1

Then I walked a bit more and went back home. It was cool.

Part of the fun of a book fair is the strolling-around-and-pretending-you-have-enough-money-to-buy-everything game, in which the player lives in a fantasy world where they weren't poor and could buy everything on offer...

Or maybe that's just me XD

Yeah, that's fun XD I do that all the time, especially in bookstores or department stores, but I think last Friday I just wanted an excuse to go to my geek shop of choice and pick up something. There was a comic/manga con that weekend, so a lot of new volumes came out. The book fair just reminded me that.

... oooh, I always wondered that about Good Omens translation. Good to know, now I can settle for looking for an English copy :D

Actually, I don't know that for sure. I just assumed they did, considering how the Pratchett books always tend to be translated (rarely the jokes are explained in notes). Now, this book was published by Norma (yeah, they sometimes do geeky books, too), like almost all the Gaiman, so maybe the translation is THAT bad. But the thing is, I refuse to read a translation in which a certain person was renamed "Azirafel". UUUUUUUGH.
