A++ would LOL again

Okay so, I haven't actually WATCHED the film, but I caved in and glanced at my flist's spoiler posts out of curiosity. I must say this?

Aliens? In MY Indiana Jones movie? It's more likely than you think.

...Pffffft! Ahahahahahaha ahahaha ahahaha haaaaaa~

I mean yeah, lame premise is lame and all, but am I alone in finding this completely hilarious? Sure, sure, mixing Indy with aliens is... unholy or something. But guys, it's still so LOLWHUT it's kinda awesome. There's a reason why I have a LOL ALIENS tag: they just make everything more amusing to me. Random aliens make me WANT to see this movie even more.

Or you know, perhaps I'm already used to gratuitous, unexpected aliens in my own fandoms, so... not a big deal.

Either way, aliens or shitty premises won't turn me off IJ4. If anything, I'm looking forward to them! Now to look for a quality copy on torrents.

Will make a real post later today.

ETA, hours later: Ahahahaha, and it just popped in fandom!secrets XD

It wasn't just that it was aliens, it was also...the way it was pulled off |D I dunno, I can't explain it. I dunno why it's okay in Okami, but~ *shrugs*

But it is Indiana Jones. As long as there's a fedora and a whip and snakes and crazy antics, why would anyone care about the (lack of sense or depth of the) plot?
sammywhatammy: (let me think about it for a sec)

The original plots were cool? Minus ToD |Da

OMG! Spoiler swerve!
I'm gonna forget I read that... ;.;

I honestly don't get what the fuss is all about! SRSLY PEOPLE GET OVER IT. It's not like it's not obvious from the beginning, with LOL NEW MEXICO and LOL AREA 51! I was all LOL YEAH OF COURSE LOLOLOLOL towards the end, for reals.

There are also a couple of hints you could notice before even watching the film: Steven "I love aliens lol" Spielberg and George "A galaxy far far away" Lucas. OH LOL I'M LOVING THIS FILM EVEN MORE IN RETROSPECT WITH ALL THE WTF @ ALIEN SHIT.

And anyway, doesn't anyone remember the Raiders of the Lost Ark resolution with LOL KINDA GHOSTS and LOL JUST CLOSE UR EYES BB? Or, I don't know, the LOOK I DON'T NEED MY HEART TO LIVE stuff in Temple of Doom? It's not like Indiana Jones was believable until now!

I don't know, maybe I'm too used to The X-Files throwing 2348 different kind of aliens at my face and having big ass spaceships emerging from the Antarctica. My mum and I were both like BEEN THERE DONE THAT =D

OH INDY ♥ I NEED TO WATCH IT AGAIN SO BAD.

I have no idea if people are wanking over it, TBH. All posts I read were "WTF the aliens, but the movie's awesome anyway!", but that might be just my flist.

It's not like Indiana Jones was believable until now!
That's pretty much what I think XD Besides, people would've complained anyway if there were nazis or religious themes again. They tried to be original (er, for Indy films, not in general obviously). Besides, like I said, aliens in general in non-scifi media just make me LOL, so it's fine by me.

[identity profile] laurus-nobilis.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
This is EXACTLY what I was going to say. I mean, yes, I had a moment of "oh Spielberg, you mixed up your movies LOL" when it became obvious that the possible aliens would be actual aliens, but that's all. It was a fun movie!

And you forgot Last Crusade with the 1000 year old Crusader in a cave. :DDD

Sure, sure, mixing Indy with aliens is... unholy or something.
Why? Do you think it clashes with its gritty realism?

Uh, that phrase wasn't serious at all. Sarcastic, even. But considering comments on fandom!secrets today, seems like hardcore fans are taking it like the Worse Plotline Ever On Indy Movies. ô_o

I'm not a big IJ fan so it's just hilarious to me. I can't even remember the original trilogy clearly, besides the non-stop action and the constant feelings of WTF.

Got it, I was kinding with you :)

I just watched it. I think it was on par with the previous ones, which is to say non stop action and constant feeling of WTF :)

Y lolololol, yo paraba diciendo: dónde están Mulder y Scully? 8D
