Webmistress blues
This morning, I was considering to put Kimihiro.net in an official hiatus. Like, making a splash as the front page and announce it formally, as I haven't touched the fansite in over a year.
What I want to do (in theory) is waiting for the series to end, and THEN updating the character profiles and making full-length summaries. With all these pauses I can't recall most of the things they've said by now. Also, I get the feelings I must make sections with Tsubasa to explain WTF is happening, and I ain't touching that one-eyed (pun intended) monster until all the Watanuki-related TWISTS!1! are revealed throughout both series.
Yet now I see we're getting more Hiatus Of Doom in the magazine (you know the type: stopping it until they're caught up with TRC's current mindfuck in order to crossover) during most of July and possibly all of August. At this pace, I'll be pretty much forsaking the poor site for years if I wait for CLAMP.
There's also the fact I have to collect all information and download goodies about Kei. I never made an anime gallery, either. And to be honest, I'm dreading the whole thing because I'm not giving a damn. I'm not even looking forward to the OVA. I don't want my site to look so... with so many anime sections. Like, 1) movie, 2) first season, 3) second season, 4) OAD. But I have to make it complete or I'd feel bad about it. /thoughts onyaoi HOLiC anime
tl;dr: So, I don't know what to do about the fansite. With the anti-climatic way the serialization is going, I'm not feeling so enthusiastic about the series to have the website updated and complete, or at least not until the manga ends (which will be around when TRC ends, let's be honest). And I give a fuck about the anime. Any thoughts? What would you do? Should I just put a hiatus note to say all the info is obsolete until further notice?

Actually, almost everyone in Spain considers themselves bilingual. Except that second language is SELDOM English or any, you know, tongue you can speak outside of the goddamn country. It's a bit like the UK, where Scotland and Wales have their own regional language. So in most regions, people speak both "Castillian" (aka Spaniard Spanish) plus the useless tongue of their ancestors (Catalan in Catalonia, Gallego here in Galicia, Vasco in Basque Country, and so on). And like Welsh, they try to impose it everywhere so it doesn't die. My COLLEGE DOCUMENTS are all in Galego with no translation to Spanish and it drives me nuts.
Funny enough, the majority of Spaniards (almost all people in LJ knows their stuff, but we're a minority as RL/Internet population) suck balls in English or just don't care enough to learn beyond the primary school basics. But surely it's pretty big in your CV to have English knowledge (at least business English) in Spanish-speaking countries (not only Spain; actually, it's even almost required in Latin America and the level there is higher). Maybe you don't know it, but the international business language around the world IS English.

Well I do know this or at least it makes sense, I mean in most other countries the second language people learn tends to be English. It is also definitely the scientific language now where even people in different countries will publish their articles in English to get more readership.
I was actually an International Business major for my undergraduate degree but since my language skills suck (took French & Spanish) I didn't stick with it.
Well that's good then, I mean I know you want to go into Web Design but I think even in that field being bilingual can be useful.
Edit: And I didn't know that about the dialects that's interesting. Well I suppose I can understand why it is frustrating but I also understand not wanting a language to die.

Yup, English's also the science/technology language. And I really have no idea if I'll be able to get into the Web Design field (translating info for a client's website would be sweet), but in my career (Computer Science/Information Technology) English is a must. Programming languages and OS commands are English words, and all the trendy techie stuff is in English.
Not that it means that IT Engineers in Spanish actually SPEAK English, mind you. If my faculty is any indication, they're bullcrap and pretty much screwed. Even professors can't pronounce words correctly.
