Looking back

And now that I'm slowly rereading my FMA volumes. I guess some of you might remember those icons for [livejournal.com profile] tarot_challenge I made years ago. (If you weren't here or are curious, here they are.) It's kind of funny because for some reason I remembered them and went to check them out. And well, they're so simple but I still like them. But what's interesting is reading the reasons and the meaning of the cards, and finding that volumes later they still make sense story-wise or in my logic.

If I were to make them today, I would've made one extra of either Chariot or Strength for Olivier Armstrong (yeah, well, Strength fits her better than her brother), one extra of Hermit for Hohenheim, and one extra of Judgment for Marcoh. Oh, and a Hanged Man version with the other Greed. No, you know what's funny? Some cards that made no sense back then other than "oh, I want to do one with this character/scene" are making more sense in-story NOW. Particularly this one, and Mei's, and even Ling's whose meaning I thought to be lost after chapter 58. I'd also use a pre- or during-Ishval image for Lovers better, to make it more symbolic.

I lost the .pdf, though. And I'm not creative enough to simulate an old icon.

I should just, like, make Greedling icons and that's it.
