taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Ocarina of Time / this is a song of hope)

Old meme is old

Let's do this again, videogame edition.

Choose five series (no peeking before you choose them), list them, and then answer the questions behind the cut.

1. Okami
2. Zelda (of N64 continuity)
3. Ace Attorney
4. Tales of Symphonia
5. Odin Sphere

1. Which is your favorite series from your list? And why?

Okami, duh. And I feel AWFUL saying this, because my inner teen Zelda fan screams in chagrin (LOL sorry, I learned this word this week by reading Twilight wank), and I've been paying more attention to items 3 and 4 lately. But my love is so deep and yet silly. It just makes me so happy and I can't put it in mere words.

2. If you were to pair two characters from 1 and 4, who would they be?

Oh, um. What the hell.

...I've been thinking of combinations for about 5 minutes and can't think of something good. I'll go with tree!Martel/Sakuya, IDK. And Raine/Moon Tribe ruins would be OTP. Then I went all gen in the crossover area, and imagined the Ark of Yamato stopping by Derris-Kharlan all "oops, wrong land of the gods, chérie", but Amaterasu wouldn't care that much and go to snuggle Kratos and stuff. Waka would be a bit annoyed. Uh, what was the question again?

3. What is one thing you'd like to change about 3's plot line?

One of the things I miss the most on AJ compared to PW, apart from a lack of explanation about the Feys, is the end-of-game get-together. You know, the defense and the prosecution would meet after the trial and be really cute together: you'd have Phoenix and the Feys and Edgeworth and Gumshoe and sometimes Franzisca, discussing/arguing about the events and being cute together. There was a lack of this by the end of GS4.

I have several theories about this. 1) Edgeworth WAS a childhood friend, so it was easier to become friends with Nick-tachi, while Klavier rarely met Apollo-tachi outside court. 2) The ending happens in a hospital instead of after trial, so it would be odd if Ema and especially Klavier would stop by and visit the sick one at the same moment Apollo and Trucy did. Because as I said in 1), they aren't that close of friends. Anyway, I think it's a pity. While I doubt Klavier would over-angst about the results, it would've been a great opportunity for Apollo and Trucy to bond with him in an after trial scene, like when Nick and Maya shook the emo out of Miles on 1-4.

And mind you, I think that would've been a nice parallel with 1-4. In 1-4, a prosecutor -Miles- had to face against his evil mentor, someone who was like a family to him. In 4-5, a defense attorney -Apollo- had to go against his evil mentor, and a prosecutor -Klavier- had to go against his family. It was a perfect chance to become friends in a similar yet less subtexty way the previous generation did. I think they wasted that opportunity for character development.

4. If both main characters of 2 and 5 were falling off a cliff, which one would you save?

Uuuuuuuuuuh, which one is the main character of 5? I mean, Gwendolyn can fly. Link would only lose one heart after crashing to the land. I guess I'll go with "any OS main character who doesn't have wings".

5. Which event was the most horrible for you in 1?

Spoilers: Everything surrounding Himiko's death, including Rao's death in turn, and those tales about the Celestial massacre.

6. Which is your least favorite character of 2?

...T-Tingle. Sob.

7. If the antagonist of 3 were to rape the main character of 1, what would you do?

Err, while there are very nasty murderers in the Attorneyverse? I don't think any of them would be into bestiality, you know. And it's not like Ammy would let them. On the other hand, turning convicts into grass would save budgets on gas or electric chairs or however they do death penalty there.

8. What song reminds you of 5?

"It's the end of the world as we know it (and I feel fine)" :'DDDDDD

9. Of 1, 3, and 5, which is the easiest to think about?

Now, I enjoy thinking about Okami the most, but the easiest is Ace Attorney.

10. Are the protagonists of 2 and 4 similar?

Link and Lloyd? Let's see. Their dying mom left them under the care of someone else (a dwarf and a, uh, tree). They're both swordsmen. They have strong ideals and want to save the world. They seem oblivious when females are interested in them. Apart from that it's hard to say, since Link has no defined personality anyway.
