I've been a seriously lame LJ user lately. Guess I've been easily distracted recently. So let's try to sum shit up.

TV stuff (and some comics tossed in)

So Doctor Who cliffhanger. I'm surprised that my crazy theories (and almost everybody else's, actually) back from the first two-parter AND some rumors I heard turned out to be both true. It was an epic mid-finale episode anyway, but a huge part of my thoughts are pretty much:

In any case and as much as an asshole he might be, the way Moffat trolls people over Twitter is hella amusing.

Gaming stuff

On Friday I went to a clearance sale at PC City and got Hotel Dusk 2 Last Window: The Secret of Cape West and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep at a pretty cheap price. My brothers lost their PSP's memory stick, so guess I won't be playing KH until I buy one.

So, E4! Nothing I care about for Microsoft, don't own current Sony consoles nor I'm going to. The Wii U controller is a little WTF. In any case, I'm all pumped for Skyward Sword and Kid Icarus Uprising.

Also, I'm kinda depressed because the Ocarina of Time remake comes out for my birthday, but hell if I'm going to buy a 3DS. I'd rather wait for the mandatory lite version, unless I see a fair pack with a worthy game.

Book stuff

I've read the first book of The Dresden Files. All my friends love the series in a masochistic way, but so far I'm not sure if I'll like it enough. On the meantime I started The Red Pyramid. I had started this novel with Greek gods as protagonists, but after Athena willingly losing her virginity in chapter two I'm not sure if I want to continue for the trainwreck.

Random stuff

WHY is the largest mall in Spain (and third largest in Europe) in my city? This place isn't important! It makes no fucking sense!

That awkward moment when you realize that the highlight of your night was discussing a Pokémon character at fandomsecrets. I REGRET NOTHING.

And of course I already have crossover theories. See Yotsuba Kowai. See the Harmonias. Her biological family, y/n/WTF? It makes too much sense, if you ask me. She escapes, even to a non-Pokémon dimension, and finds a real loving father in Kowai. YOU GOT SO LUCKY, GIRL, YOU HAVE NO IDEA! ♥ Of course, being from another world plus being raised with Ghetsis' creepy parenthood skillz, you get a weird kid who knows nothing about how the world works or how to socialize normally with people.

And now, I can't see any cute official art of Yotsuba&! with animals and see the parallel with young N.

Don't mind me, I feel like I have to comment on the silly yet amazing news that is the Professor Layton/Phoenix Wright crossover game for the 3DS. Yes, it's legit. I'm torn between OMG WHY SO EPIC and OMG IS THIS CRACK FOR REAL. I CAN'T EVEN. Also, this is the coolest Gyakuten news in a long time, and of course Eshiro isn't involved while Shu Takumi is. CONCLUSION: LET TAKUMI ALONE HANDLE THE FRANCHISE FROM NOW ON, OKAY?

Too bad they didn't adapt Phoenix and Maya to the Layton art style. I think they can rock that look, their canon already being an anime cartoon of sorts and all.

If Edgeworth isn't in the game and people wank about it, I'll laugh my ass out.

But yes, coolest official crossover idea since that Dragon Ball/One Piece AU one-shot. Too bad I suck at Layton games and I have yet to finish the first one ;;

ETA: IMPORTANT! I read in a forum where does Kurou's name come from. Actually it's a part of Minamoto no Yoshitsune's full name. The kanji mean "ninth son", but that's meaningless in Okamiverse (...I hope so, imagine 9 mini-Wakas). LOL screenwriters, still throwing bizarre Yoshitsune references on Ushiwaka-related stuff?

ETA2: ...No plans for Layton/Wright in the West. Tiiiiime to break out my "capcom sucks so much tag", sigh. I knew this post was too happy.

I don't believe it. Even if this is true, I have no idea if I'd buy this. I wanted Ammy in Tatsunoko, and this crossover game is too uuuuuh American for her. I will say this, though: AMATERASU WOULD SO KICK THOR'S ASS. REPEATEDLY. (well, she'd kick everyone's ass, but just sticking to lolgods...)

Tiny grammar question for English-speaking natives, since I'm now confusing my mom. Is it correct to say "So beautiful eyes!"? To me it sounds awkward and I'd use 'such' of 'what' instead of 'so', but I'm not really sure if that's actually wrong. Alright, got it. Thanks, guys! ♥

Yeah, from all the fine guys and gals in FMA, I go and crush on a minor manga flashback character who dies. Shut up, he's nerdy and nice and pretty. And now with a Jade voice, too!

Okay, this is just too good. King Bumi vs. Toph Earthbending fighto! Man, I love the Nick Magazine comics for Avatar, they're so adorable.

And afterwards, I was reading the previous comics online. And I was reminded to ask myself, again, why the hell I like the Earth King. One of the worst monarchs ever in my fandoms. I'm guessing it's just out of "moe" factor. Yeah... with so many <16-year-old characters, and I find a grown man moe.

I now want to write a crossover with the Earth King and Peony IX arguing over whose pet(s) are the cutest, Bosco or the bunch of rappigs. Oh, bother. Well, Peony could teach him a bit about how to rule a country and still be a groovy dork, since they're at it.

Ah, and some old games finished downloaded here, so I tried them out for about an hour each:

⇒ Katamari Damacy: I own and love We Love Katamari, but I was never able to try the first game since. Well. I'm in Europe and it was never brought and stuff. So far it's pretty easy although it might be in comparison since I'm already experienced. The sequel is also more appealing when it comes to several things, although flying through space gives a better illusion of LOL ALIENS COSMOS ROYALTY.

The Royal Rainbow is gross. ILU King, but srsly. WTF. Even for Katamari standards.

(...Oh, right. The Earth King is still a better ruler than King of Cosmos. I guess if a king is flashy or headache-inducing enough, I can deal and like him...? ANYWAY.)

⇒ Psychonauts: I have no idea because it kept freezing during the intro. So much for trying this one. Also, I spent like one minute trying to find the way to start the game for the first time. I... guess it's original enough, yes.

Maaaan, I wanted to try this shit so hard. *crais moar*

⇒ Tales of Legendia: I figured it'd play as smooth as Abyss since they're from the same year and all. First of all, I went and threw my conceptions out the window, or otherwise I'd have a hard time adjusting to a Tales game that isn't from Team Symphonia and with artwork that isn't Fujishima's. I got used to the character design, yeah, but I was still a bit "...shit is weird" at the whole layout and visuals (I liked that they talk sometimes all anime-skit-like, but it was still O_o).

But man, the fights! It's like playing Phantasia again, and I hated TOP's gameplay. I definitely prefer TOS/TOTA's illusion of 3D. What's up with cooking on ovens, BTW? And mind you, I could stand the doomed gameplay if the plot and characters were interesting (I mean, I haven't dropped P4), but so far Senel is a total Allen-Walker-cosplayer bore and I barely know his sister to give a damn. I do give Will the benefit of the doubt because the guy's got a dragon skeleton/fossil hanging from his ceiling and that's nerdly hardcore. So I'll keep up a bit more for telrunya; it might get better when the cast grows larger.

Dear self,

I know, I understand, getting yourself busy is the best source of inspiration because your mind wanders off more often.

But it's the worse time to get this fantastic idea for a fill-the-blanks epic fic centered on one of your most favorite characters ever, what he was doing during several critical moments in canon, and how you can make it work so it fills a plothole regarding the final battle.

No, no, you're not writing it any time soon, so stop working on the ideas! And stop merging more plotholes together so you could make this a multichaptered -or at least multi-scene- fanfic!

We both know I'll be too lazy to write this once whenever I get the free time. It's a fact. It happens in every exam period ever.

Well, summer is fucking over at last, which makes me sad because it's going to be a dreadful winter to me. I start classes tomorrow, also. I reckon I'll spend the day playing videogames now that I can. We're buying the textbooks for my language courses tomorrow; even if I learn little, I can still self-learn with these one day. I think I'll check out the German book at least so I don't go so green. Because I'm green. I barely know enough to recognize the fanboy German from you-know-what-character, and that's it. I have until the 15th to get familiar with it. ACHTUNG, BABY~

Looks like this anime season sucks balls, too. I'll focus on finishing my incomplete series instead. The only new thing I'm checking out is Tales of Reservoir Chronicle the Abyss. Nope, I've never played the game. I can't play the game because Europe sucks. Mind you, I'm watching because I can't play the game, and perhaps it's a good thing (I did watch the ToS OVAs and read the manga before playing it for that reason). Why? Color me curious. So even if it sucks in the end, at least the characters are good looking (stupid sexy Jade Curtiss) and I can mock the LOLCLONES plot like it were Tsubasa, except without the emotional investment. Yeah, so I'll be watching this while the world goes for Gundam 00: Electric Boogaloo.

With Western series, there's How I Met Your Mother. Today's episode was great. (Damn you, Marshall, now I want a burger!) I'm also watching No Heroics, but that's a short one. Sadly, they talk so fast for my level I have to download subtitle files. (It was tragic this week, because the subs were out of sync ;;) And for the lulz -wait, all I'm downloading are sitcoms, and this is for the lulz? then again, CGI dragon-, maybe I'll check BBC's Merlin.

I want a How I Met Your Mother/Tales of Symphonia crossover where Zelos becomes Barney's new wingman. The amount of chicks the former can impress/annoy without doing anything at all might make the latter forgive him for not suiting up. Too bad I don't know anyone who's a fan of both things at the same time and none of you understands WTF I'm talking about, because those two as bros (perhaps a bit of rivals, too) would be legen--wait for it--dary.

Okay, progress status. Plotwise I just finished the infamous Flanoir scene. The three people I got were Colette, Genis, and Sheena. I went with the latter because I'm roleplaying her, although I don't really dig Lloyd/Sheena as a pairing that much and her as a "soulmate" is a bit too one-sided crush. I don't really ship Lloyd with anyone in particular, to be fair. I can see there's a lot of one-sided-ness going on, but he's so naive and bashful I can't see him hooking up with anyone yet. More like I have several OTFs with him.

True story: Before I stopped playing for today, I went to Altamira (ah, the Miami Beach of Tethe'alla) to do the beach sidequest. Funny enough, I brought Zelos as beach mate for the lulz and my other two guys picked up by the game were Colette and Sheena. More lulz were had when i realized? I was tagging along precisely the three people Lloyd is paired up the most from what I've heard |DDD It felt pretty much fanfic-tastic and foursome material.

By the way, I hate Ymir forest. And Latheon gorge. And Welgaia. Yup, I did all those today. Yup, I feel like my head is exploding. So I'll leave those other silly sidequests, including the dance at Meltokio's aristocratic quarters, for tomorrow. I did get the mask outfit for Zelos and cracked my shit up by rolling around the city wearing it as avatar. Anyway, now it's sleep tiemz.
