I r teh dumb
1. The moral of the story, kids. Don't EVER install something in Mininova that has no feedback yet. I've spent part of my night and all of my morning reformatting and reinstalling shit on the laptop because it was getting frustrating to get the malware/troyan combo gone. Since I had just reformatted the computer and there wasn't a lot to install again because I had been lazy to do so, I figured I could afford to do it all dumbfail.
It was still made of annoying to reinstall all my Firefox addons again when I did it less than a week ago.
2. NOOOOOOO, FRINGS ;; BASTARDS! Bad game, bad! *hits with a rolled newspaper* Like the old mechanics wasn't bad enough. S-sob poor Cecille.
On the other hand, after Symphonia, I suppose that the fact this time a minor guy got killed is sort of refreshing. I was a bit creeped out when I noticed the amount of dead minor women, augh. Not that men didn't get killed in ToS, but most of the time it was a woman.
3. I'm still dealing with the beginnings of my annual seasonal-lack-of-light fall/winter depression, but that's something boring to talk about anyway.
4. Two memes, to break the ice.
As usual, a list in my profile.
5. Click in what I hope it will be my last dragon.

a) I want to talk about how my ships and concept of shipping varies with fandom, so name me a fandom and I'll discuss what I ship and what shipping means to me in that fandom.
b) I have a lot of fandoms. Have you ever wondered about one of the fandom I sometimes mention on my journal which you don't know of? Ask me any question you want about them!
As usual, a list in my profile.

Can't think of anything for the other one 8/a
Phoenix Wright
Phoenix/Miles never called my attention. OKAY, YEAH. I see the pairing, because you'd have to be BLIND not to, and if this were CLAMP this would even be considered canon and Edgey would be missing an eye (and the eyeball would be used as evidence in court). But I never wanted to ship it, partly because of the fact I didn't get to remotely like Edgeworth until the third game. And I don't ship Phoenix with anyone, either.
also, I've stumbled into some P/E nutjobs that keep bashing anything that isn't teh ghey or the part of canon they're into, thus ruining the paiting for meBut then, in T&T, I found two couples I liked: Desiree/Ron and Diego/Mia. I also thought Gumshoe's crush on Maggey was cute. Does the fact I ship canon het in the gay lawyers fandom mean I'm doing it wrong?
In Apollo Justice I really love the idea of Klavier/Ema because it'd be so snarky and I love that, but it seems no one can get them IC in fanworks. Which saddens me as they're my second favorite pairing in the franchise.

I did know you didn't ship P/E, I just didn't know what you DID ship and was really curious and IDK YOU PROBABLY MENTIONED IT but I must've missed it or something.
... And I should hurry with Trials and Tribulations so I can play AJ. *on the final case! /o/*

Rurouni Kenshin
I dislike that people assume that if you like one canon Kenshin pairing you must hate the other, because I LOVE KENSHIN/TOMOE, TOO. They made me cry. It was the first time I cried over anime! The pairing was heartbreaking and I liked it a whole lot. It's one of those rare cases where I don't exclusively "OTP" a character, I honestly ship both pairings.
I really liked Sanosuke/Megumi in all their snarky glory. However, and this is where my flist kills me, I never saw the appeal of Aoshi/Misao because I can't see Aoshi returning her feelings any time soon (he feels so asexual to me). I also have a crack pairing: Soujirou/Kamatari! I wonder if it exists. ^ponders about making a F!S secret, but... now it's not a secret*
Oh, and I never saw any BL/yaoi subtext until I saw people slashing on the Internet. Then again, before EVA my gaydar was broken.

ALSO I don't get why the hell you can't like both pairings. I mean, it's not like InuYasha/Kagome vs InuYasha/Kikyou, Tomoe died and stayed DEAD so who the hell cares if YEARS later Kenshin found a new love? What, was he supposed to mourn Tomoe forever and be miserable the rest of his days? It's not like he didn't carry tons of angst and guilt because of her already, and it's not like he was all OH HAY NEW GIRL. FUCK TOMOE, I'LL NEVER THINK OF HER AGAIN or anything akjfdsajkg.
/rant
I liked Sano/Megumi too 8D B-but I do ship Misao/Aoshi as well. And Saitou/Sanosuke, since you mentioned slash (RK is actually the reason why I first began thinking about slash, a friend mentioned having found smut pics of Kenshin and I was like "DO WANT" and she said they happened to include Aoshi and I was like "... what." but then I realized I didn't care cause it was still Kenshin and uhhh then I started searching online and the rest is history? ... She never showed me those pics though ;A;)
I made you a really crappy drawing of Soujirou and Kamatari once, didn't I? |Da;; Like. Ages ago.
... Also, Yahiko/Tsubame y/n/don't care?

Re: Rurouni Kenshin
I don't see the Aoshi/Misao, too. Well, it could be kind of canon at the end, but still... he's so SO boring (and asexual, yes xD). I love Misao's character, but if she ended up with a man like him... =/. Anyway, I'm not very fond of Aoshi (he's a little bit
totallyoverrated, I think).Soujiro/Kamatari seems interesting, now that you mention it.

But the amazing part was, this troyan that infected me last night came with fucking WINRAR. Like, the installation file was less than 2MB, WTF!

Winrar? You can get that on the winrar site safely (although if you don't want the obnoxious pop up box telling you to pay for every time you use it, I can't help you there. XD)

My ships are all minor characters and don't get in the way of plot. We have Kohza/Vivi, which I adore. And I was one of those joking about Coby/Helmeppo, but as time passed it made EVEN MORE SENSE so now I ship it sort of seriously! Oh, and when it comes to adults Smoker/Hina is sexy and snarky. And, uh, I like Chaka/Pell.

b) There are some, especially from videogames, but I'm curious about Okami!
*se roba los memes*
Fullmetal Alchemist
Oh, and I ship all married couples, especially Trisha/Hohenheim and Izumi/Sieg ♥
Okami
Basically, it's an action-adventure game where you take the role of sun goddess Amaterasu in a fantasy version of ancient Japan of myth. But did I mention she's in the avatar of a white wolf? So you go around, vanquishing evil demons and spirits and being heroic, but also you're out to restore the land with your godly powers (for instance, making trees bloom or feeding animals). You use a brush to paint your abilities and attacks, although you can also slash shit with weapons (mirrors, rosaries, glaives, in reference to the three sacred treasures of myth)
The mythology is very, VERY loose, in case you didn't notice. For instance, Susanoo was a normal human, and Kushinada a sake brewer, and Kaguya-hime was an alien princess who was raised a la Clark Kent and returned to the moon in a rocket, just to give some instances. And there are also appearances of historical figures with a twist, like Ushiwakamaru, Benkei, queen Himiko, Abe no Seimei, and even Ainu mythology figures/beings like Okikurmi, Samickle, and the koropokkuru.
The plot starts with a retelling of the legend of Orochi, and later develops into this strange plot with even LOLaliens. Nonetheless, the story is adorable yet dark in some places, even if it's cracktacular in essence, and the characters are pretty awesome to me. The art is a mix between cartoon and sumi-e, the backgrounds are just gorgeous, and the music is beautiful as well. This is my favorite videogame ever, and I obssess on and off it. It never fails to make me happy, except when there's no Western fandom at all. BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH IT'S NOT FUNNY.

b) Kino no Tabi. It looks interesting and it isn't one you've plugged recently.
Avatar
I did, however, grew to love Sokka/Suki even before it was win and endgame, because of that first episode in Kyoshi Island, with Sokka getting pwned by Suki and taught by her. It was just ♥ I never found Sokka/Yue any interesting to me, probably because compared to Sokka/Suki it never clicked. I must say that when Suki got mentioned again, I was all "ashfgaggag they didn't forget even if other pairing was canon!" And I like how with Suki returning, she was shown to be not really a tsundere warrior but a normal girl who happens to be a fighter. She fits Sokka, who's also a normal boy who happens to be a bunch of stuff.
I... think that's all I ship seriously. I'm fine with the canon pairings, but this is the only one I truly love.

Kino no Tabi
There's not really a plot, but the premise is about this preteen kid called Kino who is a traveler, and visits different countries in a talking motorcycle called Hermes, only staying 3 days as a rule. They also try not to judge the civilizations or change the system; just learn about them, the good and the bad (it's... usually the bad what shines the most). The motto of the show is "the world is not beautiful, therefore it is". Mostly, what we see in the series is several aspects of human nature taken to extremes.
Also, I remind you the minor dead character who looks like Clow :D :D :D
ETA the opening, to make it more of a pimping:

RE: the memes, I actually wanted to ask more general shipping/fandom questions. (1) I was interested to see that you shipped the whole Han Solo & Link "Well excuuuuuuuuuse me, Princess!" thing in when you were a child. Do you still look for that sort of snark/banter in a pairing, or was that just a childhood preference?
(2) Am I correct in believing that you like to go with obscure pairings/fandoms? If so, which one is your most obscure fandom?
no subject
1. Oh, absolutely, I still do! Mind you, I did say it had its roots in childhood and preadolescence, but since I only started getting into fandoms seriously as I grew up, I'd say it's almost completely an adult thing. I just really like those dynamics of banter and sarcasm. I still prefer at least half of my het to be snarkier. With slash pairings I thought I'm more tending to fluffy, but I also have a couple of "excuse me, princess" ships. And furthermore, if I look back at my newest fandom obsessions I see stuff like Klavier/Ema (Ace Attorney) and my favorite Tales Of pairings, and there's snark. I guess I'm back on that phase.
2. That's a tricky question. It's true I frequently don't ship the most popular pairing in a fandom, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's obscure. Mind you, sometimes it's even the canon one, or has a large following, but they're not as vocal
or batshitas the other ships. Or just people don't ship that much in that fandom, because it can happen. For instance CLAMP, I wouldn't say Clow/Yuuko and Touya/Yukito are obscure, although they're not just that popular. But yeah, in some cases I do ship crap nobody else does. With fandoms in general, I might have a couple of large/noisy fandoms I'm into or lurk in, but it's true most of my favorite anime/manga/TV/games ARE obscure.I'm not sure which is my most obscure ever since a lot of them are dead now, but I think the most obscure thing I've liked recently is Natsume Yuujinchou. It's so, so obscure I haven't seen fic of it, even though there are at least two potential BL pairings. It's just... odd. At least there are a handful of Japanese fanart sites, but that's pretty much it. It makes Okami and Mononoke look huge.
