Um, so. I idled out LJ for some reason. Sorry for not commenting lately, I have been reading you guys regardless.
a) Oh, most of you have already heard about a Fullmetal Alchemist sidestory coming up next month ♥ I've seen idiots complaining about Arakawa milking the cow (pun probably not intended) but anyway, haters to the left. I'm so fucking excited! And I'll be agonizing over whom it will be about. I don't care as it's just more goodness, although I'd like to see minor characters or something in Xing. Or both.
b) With FMA and soon Ouran, I'm kind of lost. I need something to look forward to read every month. I mean sure, I have my historical Afternoon seinen, but both Historie and Vinland Saga are going slow and even boring lately...
c) ...So in an attempt to give more excitement to my months without resorting to the inconveniences of shounen, I just had an affair with some American comics. Needless to say, it backfired fiercely. From DC I'm only keeping Booster Gold, I love it and feel so alone in this. And I'm hoping to see Jaime Reyes and the rest of the Blue Beetle peeps one day in something non-Teen Titans (I tried, then got kicked in the balls when I felt safe.) From Marvel I, um, I'll probably finish the Siege event (shuddup, I like Asgard-in-Oklahoma), maybe keep Thor for the lulz, and read spoilers for the Young Avengers... but fuck me if I get more involved with that messy mindfuck 'verse. I just concluded Marvel is the manry, Western version of CLAMP and no one will convince me otherwise.
To show my point? Doctor Strange is a Clow descendant. HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS ARRAY I DON'T EVEN.
d) More news on Okamiden with a new trailer.
- I forgot to say, I really don't like the theme song: it's way too modern pop and it clashes with the game. Sure, Reset was also pop, but it also had traditional instruments so it didn't mesh. This one feels like an song for a Square-Enix RPG, not cute sumi-e fluff action-adventure.
- The mermaid is called Nanami and the kung-fu girl Kagura (which is hilarious and fitting)
- For known faces, Tama(ya), the pyrotechnic guy, is back too. Yay, he's cool!
- There are two pretty adult ladies and one loli in the new trailer. Color me curious.
- Waka-like-kid is suffering from the Auldrant Noblemen disease, as his/her face is never shown on purpose. What was the mindfuck in this trailer, you might ask?

......a fucking rocket. Welp, now we know we ARE dealing with Moon Tribe member for sure.
Now, this gives me hope in that this kid might actually not be related to Waka. You'd think his child would go with a ride with similar technology to the Ark and the computers at the Troopers' HQ. I might theorize that these rockets are either escape capsules for Lunar children before the moon apocalypse thing, or something linked to the royal family (in myths, Kaguya was a princess). As for the clothes, who's to say that it's standard outfit and colors for Lunars, and Waka keeps with it because it reminds him of his people? It's not denial, guys, it's just thinking of possibilities. I mean, maybe he/she is still his spawn, IDK.
e) Is it me or Sherlock BBC and Inception have eaten the Internet?
e.1) I still haven't downloaded Sherlock, but I'm such a geek I've been reading Watson's blog and Sherlock's website. And I've taken pride on the fact I've solved the three hidden messages on the same day they are released. They're way too easy to me, but it might have to do with the fact I liked secret codes since I was little and I already knew the first and the third system. The second I figured out with Google. Sherlock is right, this stalker is BORING.
e.2) I did watch Inception (at the cinema, even) and it didn't leave me much of a impression. I even disliked the ending. I think I'll just quote what I said to my family yesterday at lunch: "Do you guys realize we're doing exactly what Nolan intended? He left all those vague threads and plotholes hanging so people wouldn't stop talking about his movie. And it IS working." I also believe he wrote Tom Hardy's dialogs with Joseph Gordon-Levitt all slashy on purpose so this would have a fandom. Again, apparently it is working too.

But where can we read the scanlation, now that OneManga has shut down?no subject
Mangafox is still up. If it fails, stalk Bakaupdates in old fashion. I mean, scanlators existed before online readers; you just have to work your way to find it.no subject
b) God I know. I am following a bunch of series more, but this year is being HARSH TO MY SOUL. I'd rec something to you, but most of it is shoujo. I'VE GIVEN UP ON SHOUNEN FOR REALS.
Did you see Aizen turning into a BUTTERFLY recently lmao?e.1) I'm trapped somewhere with a shit internet access right now, so I'm still trying to watch the second episode lol (which is quite boring btw). Watson is awesomesauce x 89745957305 tho.
e.2) THE ENDING WAS SHIT. I mean, I figured that could a ~*plot tweest*~ before even the movie started (and after 5 minutes it became obvious), so reaching the end and Nolan going all PUNK'D at my face was ANNOYING AS FUCK. Also, I don't know why I should be discussing this movie afterwards, the ending was a simple yes or no question left unanswered and the rest was just too half-assed to care about. I did like Cillian Murphy's character and all the moral issues that WEREN'T DISCUSSED in the movie at all (there was so much VAN FALLING they didn't have the time!).

b) I do follow some shoujo series, but they tend to be so slow and I need to be in a certain mood, so I don't really look forward to new chapters until I get notifs in my Mangafox RSS feed. I guess I need more plot.
...OH KUBO, HOW I DON'T MISS YOUR TROLLINGe.1) Everyone seems to love this version's Watson and his 'blog' is good, so he must be so very awesome.
e.2) Even my brother who liked the movie and thinks it wasn't a dream could see at least three gaping plotholes in it. But suddenly discussing the ending on lunch, even when half of the family didn't like it and the other half loved it, and it's surreal. I think it's troll writing at its best, the kind some people never notice and some don't care because they like it that way.

b) Uhm, I've been thinking you might like Katanagatari (though it's an anime). Samurais, ninjas, a bit of romance, weird/nice art, out of the ordinary... if you don't mind the ENDLESS DIALOGUES (I know I don't) it may be your cup of tea. It's a 45 min episode once a month for the whole year, so it's not hard to follow...
e.1) I went through the two final episodes last night, in the end. I think the series is too plot-heavy and long (90 min!) for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. But anyway, WATSOOOOON.
e.2) TROLL WRITING is totally what it is.

Plus, being so short (in episode count), it can't really fill any void if it's gone before 2011. So yeah.

maybe royai will FINALLY get some screentime/resolution?. I don't think that Arakawa is milking the cow at all. Hell, anything more that she releases regarding this series, I will eat it up.Also, Sherlock is pretty epic. I highly suggest watching!
no subject
I will! I just need to free space on the computer.
no subject
I need to find the time to catch up on that. Holy crap.
I think there will be tears-Also FMA side story! While fans want some Royai screentime, all I want is something about Izumi-sensei and her hubby. pleasepleasepleasepleaaaase
Alsoalso agreed so hard that the slashy dialog was on purpose. and yet I ship Gordon-Levitt with Ellen Page. Go me.
no subject
I don't know if she would do Izumi and Sieg since there's been an omake about her backstory a long time ago, but it would be awesome <3 They're so badass cuddly together.
I think that kiss was also shipbait, to hook the non-slashers with something. Clever trolling, Nolan, it worked.
no subject
Oh, I haven't actually seen that omake! I'll need to hunt it down...! B|b But yes yes yes on the badassness fluff. I just. I love them so much. ;;
WELL PLAYED, MR. NOLAN. Well played.

I wouldn't be surprised if Inception gets fandom wank'd one day. People are discussing it way too hard and shipping it way too hard -there's this dude called Arthur who's shipped with two characters, a girl and another dude, so I think that might be the cue for disaster- and wishing they were in a dream way too hard -it's so going to get astral plane extractors talking about their totems or whatever, I know.
no subject
Even worse, it's only 3 episodes! (for now)

Guess we have to do something while waiting for the Doctor Who Christmas Special.
still not particularly interestedand wishing they were in a dream way too hard -it's so going to get astral plane extractors talking about their totems or whatever, I know.
Too bad Avatar beat it to getting otherkin featured in mainstream media; Inception won't stand out as much.

I'm putting my money on that. Most common cause of film-wank, especially for new films.

..Oh my god, now I see why I started shipping Captain America/Iron Man after Civil War. Years of exposure to CLAMP have made me react to the friends turned enemies turned friends. Now I'm making parallels and I an't unsee it. (also, yes, asgard is awesome)
I love Booster Gold! I'm not sure why, maybe because he doesn't get much love from the rest of the DC universe, or maybe because I adore time travel stories. Also because he is a dork with a heart of... well, gold.
no subject
It's probably because he was a silly asshole for so many years and they have a hard time taking him seriously, but I'm really amused he's not so popular because it fits his theme. He's the greatest superhero no one knows both in the story AND in real life. But I love the timey wimey, and all the characters (Booster, Skeets, Rip, Michelle)

(I have since seen the first episode of Sherlock and adored it ^__^. Don't think I'll bother with Inception, though.)
