Kanji stupidity

Spelling in Japanese for Clow Country is in kanji. I investigated; is this right?

玖 (ku): beautiful black jewel; nine
楼 (rou): watchtower; lookout; high building

Well, if the King can make/change the laws... ;) In fact, I can even see *Clow* making it legal, because he got A Feeling about Touya and Yuki. Or something.

The jewel thing made me think of Eriol. Then I remembered there's no Eriol in TRC (yet). But still, gotta love the pattern there.

Yet more jewels. Besides, isn't the world's most famous ruby spinel called "the Black Prince's Ruby", and it's on the royal crown of Great Britain?

I'm amazed the British winks in Eriol's magic can be translated to Clow country, and particularly to King Touya and his father. Damn Ohkawa.
