A couple of questions for the Japanese speakers. Please any help? ;_;

1. Does this name 君尋 really mean (or can mean) "prophet"? I'm sick of seeing it everywhere and really, since when Wikipedia is a trustworthy source for fandom info? *remembers that "Waka is a Celestial" crap and grits teeth*

2. I'm curious to see a translation of this:



(I know it looks awful D: I only found a video on Niconico and there are no HQ videos of that. The screencap looked even more unreadable, if possible.)

I'll work on the sentence... it's making my head hurt trying to even see where the lines in the kanji are.

As for the first one... I really can't tell. The first kanji is for a sort of affectionate or familial "boy," the second is "understand/fathom/question."

君尋 might mean prophet. 君 means 'you' (masculine term for female) and 尋 is a word for inquiring, according to Saiga Dictionary (http://www.saiga-jp.com/kanji_dictionary.html). 尋 means 'fathom' according to Jim Breen (http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html), and that apparently means 'to penetrate to the meaning or nature of' (Dictionary.com (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=fathom)). So I'm still going with yes, it might mean prophet.

However, I can't help you with that picture.

As a matter of fact, it fits the official translation well (give or take some words, they translated it as "It takes two for tango. The bond of the brush will intercede!" but the character did go on a journey immediately) so I think it's probably correct ^_^

People thought Waka was a celestial? (Wracks brain.... can't remember... played game over a year ago.) Didn't the celestials have wings on their heads? Maybe people thought Waka's hat was wings. Eh.

I've seen it in boards and the Wiki article on Okami (not in the list of characters page, though, to make it weirder), and it baffles me so much. Yeah, you're right, the ones from the Moon Tribe don't have those wings: it's long, straight hair that would be normal if it wasn't blond. There are other differences, like the lack of halo, and we never see the green thingies Kaguya has in her head on any Celestial. Besides, the game separates the two races very well in meta (we never hear of Lunars being gods, we never hear of Celestials having technology), if you're paying attention to details, so it's not like Lunars are a group of Celestials or viceversa.

I think the blond hair was what confused them the most, because they're also confused about Kaguya -who lacks a silly winged hat. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Waka confectioned that hat to be able to fly at will like a Celestial, but it's still not natural XD
