I go to bed early one night (STFU, 1:30 a.m. is early), and what do I find? CCS WANK, IN LJ. Am I glad I never poked the first post, and I'm not poking the follow-ups. I still want to say a couple of things:
1. There are sane E/T shippers, yes. Just don't look for them at Fanfiction.net or fannish boards, because the crazies are the only ones doing the posts there and the sane ones probably keep quiet. It's like the needle in a hay of delusion. Hate a ship, dislike one or two of the shippers, abhor the fanworks, sure you can, but don't hate EVERYTHING and EVERYONE into it.
2. Just because there's almost no base for a pairing or they don't even interact it doesn't mean you shouldn't ship it at all. Different people ship differently under different circumstances. Sometimes people don't want a logic for picking ships, or make exceptions for a couple or two. Sometimes people couldn't care less if there are way too many issues between them, or they both love somebody else, or they get along like a bunch of cats with a bunch of dogs in a humid kernel, or they never met each other. Even if you dislike it, you gotta learn to accept it, even when they don't accept YOUR pairings of choice.
3. Sure, most of my ships in CLAMP (and several of my fandoms) are canon or are in the way to be. Does that mean I'm a dirty canon whore who wouldn't touch crack pairings or non-canon things with a ten-foot pole? Um, definitely not. You know what's my most loved CLAMP ship ever? CLOW/YUUKO. Who are just friends (unless there's a revelation when they hit backstory department). Who before the Mokona Modoki stories were just a "LOL they knew each other that's hawt" crack ship.
3.1. Desiree/Ron in Ace Attorney is my favorite pairing, and it's the most canon thing that the games ever canon'd. And yet I'm still looking for IC, well-written/drawn Klavier/Ema. I read a Lana/Mia fic once. teen!Pearl/Trucy could be adorable. In short, I fail as an OMG-CANON-AND-HET-WHORE shipper or something.
4. I'm not going to pretend I've been a saint, because back in the day when I moderated CLAMPish boards I had my rows and even nowadays I'd have no problem to rub reality on a wanky E/T fan's face who never read the manga and was bound to believe badfics (or their fellow shippers' wanky opinions) were based in canon. I'm not sure if that's hypocrisy, telling them what they believe to be true (not what they ship) isn't right. But I've grown up, and I don't hate the collective group anymore because... see bullet 1. I've learned to be tolerant. I even feel bad about the times I rejected people near me just because they shipped something I found yucky. I've grown up.
4.1. The reason why I have issues with the batshit E/T faction is not the fact they ignore canon. Sometimes you gotta do it to make your pairing work. I choose to ignore the badfics and ugly fanworks (unless those times when
ayasugi_san shows me to share the TWS, and still then I'm not looking FOR it). But they bash my pairing, they bash the poor lady who Eriol likes, they miss the point in discussions of canon (bringing fanon conceptions to it). Sane and reasonable E/T fans don't do this crap. Some of they might not like Kaho, but they won't call her a pedowhore.
4.1.1. In short, it's a case of Harmony vs. Harry/Hermione. Like Journalfen people, I don't mind what you ship. It's the stupid of some of you I mind because it's painful as an Eriol fan when you rub your fanon things as trufax or go superior on me!
Okay, too much wankiness. Let's have some wackiness. You know, I think the Caramelldansen meme is pure distillated faggotry. But this one is the best I've seen:

But yeah, it's an impressive cast :D

I used to be a bitchy canon whore once, too. Now I just try to have my fun and avoid things that I know will make me headdesk. *shrugs*

And the first post everyone would've agreed to it, if they hadn't added the "impossible to find sane fans" joke.

Wooooooooooooord. It seems that the concept of "It's not what you like, it's HOW you choose to show you like it that bothers me" is too difficult to comprehend for most people.

That should be printed in pamphlets and handed out to so many people. Also related somehow: no, shipping an alt pairing that you find more interesting than the canon one(s), or preferring [insert kinds of pairings (or het, yuri, yaoi)] in a dominantly [insert opposite kinds of pairings] fandom does not make you the most awesome or smarter fan in the history of forever. Just a really loud, arrogant one if you make such a fuzz about it.

How old is the guy/girl who started the wank? :U Ahh I remember when I was 11-13 years old and I was such a brat with the pairings and all.. lol (sometimes it surprises me when they are people of around.. 20 years old 8D;;)
ohoho I love this caramelldansen one a lot too http://community.livejournal.com/sos_brigade/256270.html
When I was making the Edward and Ling one I wanted to do liek.. the storyline of the manga caramelldanseneada but daskjaslfsd I always end up doing anything ;_;no subject
...I have no idea, but attacking shippers isn't something limited to preteens. I've seen ADULTS older than me (so, older than 20) getting defensive and wankier than teenagers. srs bsns.
That one is awesome, too :OOO
But it would be so hard to pull off! Too many charactersAnd I forgot to apply for Lan Fan u_u I think I have too much work with the FLs I own recently, so maybe it's for the best.

[I tend to be a canon whore, except in Avatar, but you can like what you like and sometimes even call it canon!]

I think you're right. But I also hate it when you don't like crack pairings (or you happen to like a canon pairing) and people say you're close-minded.

But some fandoms lean more to one faction, you know?

and I want yaoi crack pairings with Kyle, guys. Except for the preteens at the CCS fandom who believe E/T is canon or something, and the Touya/girl shippers complaining we "oppress" them, you're pretty much shunned if you dare shipping something other than Sakura/Syaoran, Kurofay, Fuuma/Kamui, Seishirou/Subaru, and Doumeki/Watanuki.And on the meantime, minor CANON pairings who don't get in the way of ship wars get pretty much ignored by fandom. Goddammit.

Here's (http://community.livejournal.com/clamp_rants/108216.html?thread=3815864#t3815864) my last comment, linked mostly for the quoted badfic summary. (My reaction is "E/T IS INCEST OMG!!!")
