RIP you expensive son of a bitch

So I got a call from the computer technician. Good news: he would be able to recover data from the hard drive. Bad news: it's all +100GB of music and video and ROMs and scans; none of it is the important files from the pre-laptop-reformat I had lost way before the disk died (university stuff, important txt's, Photoshop goodies, things like bookmarks or Windows fonts). Worst news: it's for 50 euros.

Okay so. I'm not paying 50 fucking bucks for cat macros and fandom stuff I downloaded for free, and especially not near Christmas. I mean, God, sure, I can't recall everything I had lost, in particular the manga and the galleries. And I bet most torrents I got my stuff from must be dead already, so maybe I'm dooming myself, but... que será, será.

Let this be a lesson for all: just because your HDD is huge, doesn't mean you mustn't burn your multimedia shit on CD/DVD frequently.

At least the episodes and the music are more or less easy to save because I was quick. Before my attempts to recover my important data, I wrote down a list of my music/video folders. The CDs one was mostly a screencap of the first tree folders, instead of a list of albums. So I'm writing down the artists I didn't have a backup of so I can hunt for them and redownload them.

It's not a plead for you to upload me anything ^^U Especially movies, since Megaupload hates me with stuff over 300MB. I mean, it's really awesome of you to offer or tell me what you've got ♥ But, um. I don't know, I feel kinda like I'm abusing and that I should hunt for these things on my own. *is too awkward about this sort of things*
