And the jeep is so cute, too

Books were shipped this morning :D

Last Friday's Avatar episode was just so awesome I wouldn't know from where to start.

Yuna and Tidus from FFX are retarded. "Come on, practice your laughter!" "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!1!" "...okay, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" And then they LOLed while the rest of the party is like "...WTF" Perhaps with a lot of facepalm while we weren't watching. Gotta love annoying main characters. Except not. I was dying of embarrassment, and I'm not even inside the game.

Color director is starting to annoy me. GREEN? So WTF.

Still, kudakitsune, although less spunky and ♥-filled than its manga version (so far; I hope the hearts appear), is cute as a button. However, a couple of things:
1) I don't understand why they cut the pool. It's summer already. And if they didn't want to have Mokona merchandizing in the series, then draw a normal pool with some other design or just a plain one, Jesus. The lack of dorky Yuuko fooling around in a bikini and her healing from dehydratation (assuming it was that, because I only watched the raw) with mere sake depresses me.
2) Anime!kudakitsune seems a little too obsessed with necks. In the manga, it usually hangs inside clothes and peeks through the collar of the shirt. This one twists around people's neck like a snake, so hard it almost chokes them. I wonder about Watanuki's cervical condition after a whole episode of kudakitsune pulling his neck. And when it moves, it moves the host neck with it, so... ouch.
3) Watanuki got used to kudakitsune way too quickly. He was already petting it after a while. Then again, animators made kudakitsune save Watanuki's life having it pulling his neck to the sidewalk before a car/truck/something ran over him. So at the end, he was like "awww, even though you're giving me a neckache, you saved me and the Sue's pinky finger! how nice! *pets*"
Then again, after meeting anime!Mokona, kudakitsune must be a bliss for him.

The episode itself... went well, I think. Sue customer was annoying, but the plot could've been worst. Having Watanuki and Doumeki following her around like private eyes, with Kimihiro hiding behind menus, his briefcase AND a chicken statue was priceless.

The shippy comment about D/W's thread of fate was a biiiit over the top, though. Gosh P.I.G, Yuuko's 104 teasing is more of the subtleties, symbolism and sarcasm varieties. I doubt IC!Yuuko would go "you're screwed, Doumeki is your soulmate" so directly and without an evil, teasing grin. Don't be so straight-forward with the subtext, P.I.G, because this is CLAMP; there are better ways to please the shippers. I think I'd even be equally annoyed if I shipped them, but that's just me.

Haven't it happened to you guys? Just during exam time, you get into a new book/manga/anime/TV show/movie and fixate and read/watch it all, and you're suddenly liking it too much than it's healthy during exam time? And it distracts you?

Because that's the story of my life. Not happy with my new-found love for Good Omens, I had to go and read with no reason... the first series of Saiyuki. Finished volume 9 last night.

I liked the story a lot, actually, so I'll be following the rest when I procrastinate from studying I'm less busy. It's Gaiden first, then Reload. Right?

And I have a huge crush on Sanzo. He's too hot. Eeeeeee. I bet you were expecting me to physically like Hakkai better. So did I; this came as a surprise. But Sanzo can be so pretty~

I read HBP the weekend before a final. @_@ Good thing it wasn't one of the difficult ones...

AH, SAIYUKI LOVE ^___^ En especial Saiyuki Gaiden ♥

I thought the laughter was cute XD

It made me want to rip my brain off my head and feed it to the cat. I think I prefer it when Squeenix male heroes are moody angst whores: at least they don't make so much noise.

rofl, I think it's cause Tidus isn't all -zomgblarI'mtoocooltotalk- that I like him. He doesn't get crazy fangirls cause of it

I liked the episode in all too, but yeah, I agree on the lack of Pool and KudaKitsune's obsession for necks... it annoyed me, really. It looked like it was strangling people's neck

The choking thing gave me some claustrophobia XDDD

It looked more like a snake than a feetless weasel-like fox, yes.

Gaiden takes place before any of the other arcs, but I don't think you need to read it first. I still haven't read Gaiden. Reload is also unfinished, as far as I know... I'm not sure which one she's currently working on, Gaiden or Reload.

Heh. And people wonder why I can't resist pairing Hakkai and Sanzo...

Thank you!

Personally, Sanzo hits me as somehow asexual -so many people hitting on you and stuff, and you're still "whatever, don't touch me or I'll shoot you"?-, but it's amazing how I can see subtext for almost every pairing combination if you squeeze hard enough. I was at a point I thought about shipping OT4 so I wouldn't have to choose an OTP. Then I read some of Gaiden and got one, so it's alright now.

[identity profile] telrunya.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)

I HATE TIDUS. and that laughing scene contributed heavily. i wonder if it's any better in japanese?

[identity profile] elihice.livejournal.com 2006-06-06 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahahaha. I'm glad you read Saiyuki, it's one of my favorite fandoms and (if the icon and layout weren't enough to tell) Sanzo definetely ranks into my top 10 favorite characters)

Gaiden and Reload (and the first series, actually--it's only a secons series because they had to change magazine...I wish CLAMP had done the same with X...) are to be read at the same time. They are both still ongoing.

If you want anything- manga, raws, anime- I can upload it for you. (artbooks! Sanzo is REALLY pretty in the artbooks). The anime has plenty of filler and is not as good as the manga, BUT if you must see one thing there's two things you MUST see:

1) The kami-sama arc animated, because it's pretty good.

2) The URASAI shorts. These appeared as small canonish/crack fun at the end of the Saiyuki reload episodes and are actually very entertaining. You can find them (all into one single video) in youtube here:

The Urusai shorts are awesome. (thanks for posting that link elihice) I never bothered with the anime of Reload... but those are awesome. Saiyuki is one of my favorite guilty pleasures.

And Tidus and Yuna are retarded. I hav great hopes for Final Fantasy XII because the characters seem far less retarded than most of the FF characters recently.

OMG ROFLMAO! Why did I have to watch it last night at 2:00? I almost awaken everyone with my laughs. God, that crack is awesome XDDDD

I have three Salty Dog artbooks, I don't know if there are more. I had some issues getting Gaiden scans, and I still haven't touched Reload, but if I have any problem I'll let you know ^_^ I'll search for them when finals are over, probably, and I'll take your offer if things get bad. The HDD is full so I don't know if I'll watch any of the anime. Might as well browse at youtube for full episodes.
