I have no idea what the hell River ever did during Ten's run to get everyone so worked up against her, so I'm just judging her from this season. I love trickster characters, and that's what she is. So, I instantly liked her. *knows she's weird*

I didn't dislike her because of anything she did, I just didn't like how the character was written as knowing all these secrets about the Doctor. I don't know I find a character more compelling when they are at a disadvantage instead of an advantage. She just came off as Mary Sueish to me at first.

In this season though there are clues that she isn't everything that she seems. Finding out the mystery of River Song is very interesting to me. :)

I did! I really liked Nine and he was my first Doctor. I just dropped the show because Ten was boring me and all companions in his run were ran over by the plot truck.

Even Nine didn't have that luck, considering Jack was left behind in his finale and shit. So it IS a first one, and when I saw my flist commenting it that I truly decided to watch this. Plus, married couple as companions yay!

I can understand why people could be weary of overpowered characters. But with male godmod protagonists with a huge ego, I love it when there are smart females to take the upper hand of them and play them down a bit. It's a fun kind of dynamics for me. I also like mysterious creepy folks and shady tricksters. So the reason why I guess they hate her is the same why I like her :D She's fun, and her knowing shit the Doctor doesn't and being snarky about it makes it better for me.

I think there's something about this season :o I have two kinds of whovians in my flist with 180º opposite opinions (and half the reason why I dropped the show was because one of them wanked/cried while the other squeed/laughed and viceversa, and I can't have reaction posts living in fear of being whined). ...Ok forgive me for the dumbest question ever but Ouran's still going? :|;; I was following the manga and anime back in the day, and when the tv series ended I just stopped reading assuming the manga would end similarly a-ahh. I ASK BECAUSE IT WAS GOOD SO. SOB;;

Nope, the manga was not finished at all when the anime ended. As a matter of fact, the anime ending was completely made up and has nothing to do with the manga, so it's practically a different series with common characters (a la Fullmetal Alchemist) at this point. The manga is lots more shoujo and does decide on a canon pairing to wrap up.

I liked the anime just fine but the ending left me cold. The manga is a bit YMMV, I guess, since I've seen people in fandom whining over it for different reasons (it's not as comedy as it was in the beginning!, OMG at least three characters love Haruhi!, OMG Haruhi loves someone!, OMG my ship was sunk and Bisco is a cockteaser!, OMG there's no canon slash!, and so on). I like it a lot, but it might be because I'm really fond of Tamaki.

Touch it enough to app River at CFUD, because she is very much wanted but the players have given up hope of anyone apping her. An Amy is fine too.

I hope Series 6 has at least one episode about the full TARDIS family: Amy/Rory the young couple, with Eleven and River as the cool older siblings/possibly a couple.

Dude, don't sound entitled. Even if I had the time to RP, which I certainly don't, there are tons of other characters (with actual CANON INFO, mind you) and tons of other games I'd rather app in LJRP before CFUD. I wouldn't even play River in our Spanish RP where I used to be active. You're trying to recruit the wrong person in the wrong game on the wrong character.

Even if it's messy, I'd like that River becomes a companion while Amy and Rory are around. They've already gone through quite a bit and I like the group dynamics. (Poor boys, though. Like they didn't have enough being bossed around by Amy, now I want them to stand River's cryptic teasing XD)

I don't think she'll become a companion, but she might be a major recurring character like Rory was. And since Rory is presumably sticking around for the whole season, and presumably at least one River episode will be relationship-establishing, there should be at least some group dynamics on display...

She might be a full companion like Rory, but with recurring character status (like Rory). I think she'll most likely be a short-term companion, since part of the fun of her character is how she pops up at random points in her and the Doctor's timeline, and extended periods together gets rid of that.
