What's in a name

I've been working on some plotbunnies that involved Chinese names. If you've been reading me, you know what I mean. So in laurus_nobilis' flist a link to Mandarin Chinese resources came up, and I was reading this article about how Chinese people get their names.

And it made me think about CLAMPverse, and the importance of naming. And I returned to reread XXXHOLiC volume 1. This rant is mostly about Clow, but also mentions Yuuko and Fei Wang. Behold a long rant.
