So I guess I'll have to pull my big girl panties and...

Eshiro, you do hate everything I love. But hey, I made a silly animated gif!
And now I'll shut up about Okamiden, at least for a while. Spoilers will surely be in comments, instead of being a normal gal and use a cut.

It's not as if it's entirely out of the realm of Ōkami, since the deaths in that game all felt like a punch in the gut (even Tobi's, as minor a character as he was), but throwing that extra guilt onto Waka's already guilt-ridden backstory is a little much. Especially if it involves a character who looks as innocent, funny, cheerful as Kurou.
YOU KNOW, FOR KIDS!
I'm fine with character death, but the reason I'm annoyed is a) like you said, it's unnecessary new drama for Waka, and b) why do you kill a CHILD? The deaths in the original were all adults or beings with a long existence (I guess I assume Tobi was an adult in demon paper terms?), and I thought they wanted to make it kiddier and cuter to get to a younger audience. Um, it's contradictory and sad.

puppywolf cub and a boy. If that doesn't scream little children, I don't know what does. Sadly, people do judge by its cover, especially when buying things for their kids. But yeah, see how Harry Potter is a massacre in terms of character deaths, and people of all ages read this and deal with it.
