No idea if this will go through, because I can't get most pages to load 100% recently. But I shall try.

Guys, beyond my RP friends, who else is watching Electrickittens Thundercats 2011? Because ho my god, that was a badass premiere and I want more of this in my life. Is it next Friday yet?

Hey, is this a formal reaction post? I think it is )

LOL, trolls

And today, in Fandom Secrets, if you watch children's cartoons you have issues!!1!

I know it's a troll and all, but I'm sure there IS people out there who totally think less of us with childish fandoms. And I ask, who the fuck cares? Just because you're not the target audience it doesn't mean it's not enjoyable! I think everyone can have fun with a cartoon once in a while (or once a week, or once a day...) because there are many kinds of cartoons for all kinds of tastes. Plus, there are many crappy shows for teenagers and adults that are still quite popular, because for the fans it's fun to watch. Same with children's cartoons, good or bad. And not every show is mindless sitcom-esque crack; some can have quite the dark side while still targeted to kids.

And actually, the golden age of Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon actually began during my teen years. It's fun to have nostalgia of those shows and talk about it with folks who were actual children during their original run. It doesn't make that much of a difference, even. I miss the quality in those days. And kodomo anime is also fun! I also watched some Pokémon and Digimon in teen years. Mind you, I'm never regretting the purchase of a boxset with part of the first season of Nintama Rantarou (I WANT MOAR), and I was 27 so whatever. I also catch reruns of Keroro Gunsou (awesomeness) and Crayon Shin-chan (a bit overrated and memetic, though).

Having an active inner child is great. So feed him/her/hir.

P.S.: PLUS, I'VE SEEN IT'S KIND OF CHIC TO WEAR MERCH OF OLD NOSTALGIA CARTOONS. BUT ONLY IF IT'S WESTERN, IF IT'S ANIMU YOU'RE STILL A CHILDISH WEEABOO EWWWW. /pet peeve
P.S.2: RIGHT, I HAVE TO DOWNLOAD MORE OF SYM-BIONIC TITAN.
P.S.3: And I have to watch Toy Story 3 and Tangled and Megamind before December ends!
P.S.4: LAST TIME I READ F!S WHEN PMSing BECAUSE I GET INSPIRED :D

For some reason I can't fathom, I went and bought SoulSilver. Why, self; you have never finished a Pokémon game in your life. And I still have Final Fantasy 6 and like a dozen endings of Chrono Trigger to do on the NDS.

I went with Totodile as my starter because I like water pokeymans.

- O what you haven't finished/saw sizable portions
- Bold what you loved
- Italics for what you disliked/hated

So outdated. Oh, and! Is there a good camrip of How To Train Your Dragon, guys? )

Now I need to rewatch Road to El Dorado. Where was the DVD where I burned it, again?

Ugh, my back and neck have been feeling like crap these past days, so I'll try to limit my Internet times until I get better. Ouch.

I spent most of today watching TV. Why is it that most times I end up tuning to random documentaries? Oh, right, my cable system is shit in a stick. Today my poison for thoughts included one about the galactic alignment of 2012 and why perhaps this is what Nostradamus' prophecies and the Mayan calendar were hinting at (my fatalistic inner child was scared beyond words, as the apocalypse has been my pet irrational fear along with alien abduction). The other documentary was tons more enjoyable: a top ten of deadly kung-fu weapons. The winner was the elusive flying guillotine. No one has ever even seen one, guys! Now that's ninja... the Chinese version of ninja.

Um. A happy meme, yes? Taken from [livejournal.com profile] the_great_elk.

1. Take 10 of your favorite characters and number them.
2. Put your music player of choice on shuffle.
3. Without choosing, match the first song with the first character, second song with the second, etc.

In no particular order, just picking random people as I come up with them. Also, I don't have all my music collection on my iPod yet.

01. Klavier Gavin → Ritsuko Okazaki - Morning Grace (WTF ballet magical shoujo)
02. Jade Curtiss → X Japan - Art of Life (...whut, how emo)
03. Yuuko Ichihara → R.E.M. - The Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight ("call me when you try to wake her up"? *facepalm*)
04. Eriol Hiiragizawa → Janne Da Arc - Shining Ray (daww, cute)
05. Kino → Muse - Sunburn (hmmmm)
06. Edward Elric → Queen - Bicycle Race (can't unsee it and now neither can you)
07. Amaterasu → Muse - The Gallery (instrumental song, lol)
08. Tamaki Suoh → Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply (...adequate, so adequate)
09. Ema Skye → OK Go - A Good Idea at the Time (whut)
10. Howell Jenkins → Ai Maeda - All the Way (...that's Kino's, you know)

Confession time. You know how I've said that the ones at fault for me liking snarky het pairings were Han Solo and Leia?

...Today I realized it goes back further in my childhood. I shipped Han/Leia because it was an instance of this. How embarrassing!

And maybe, things like Howl/Sophie and Tamaki/Haruhi made me prefer the instances where the girl would be the one saying the variations of "excuse me, princess!" to the guy. No wonder I ship Klavier/Ema.

All this Indiana Jones posts made me want to rewatch the old trilogy. But since I can't be buying the pack and I'm too lazy to download them, I decided to rent them if they had it in the crappy video rental near the supermarket. I still had some bucks in the card for the club's ATM-like machine.

...Not only my card was expired, but the whole CLUB was. Apparently they went out of business two weeks ago. I am not surprised, because like I said they were crappy, but this screwed up my afternoon plans.

So I checked my unwatched downloaded stuff, and I picked Disney's Beauty and the Beast, since it was another childhood classic. And this one had the "Human Again" scene, which I had never seen. I really liked the sequence.

...

And you know, the prince managed to look even uglier than I remembered. I was wondering if we weren't exaggerating the whole thing and keep on believing our own childhood wanky opinions for our sanity's sake. But trust me, we so weren't. He was THAT ugly.

Well, yeah, I still hate teamwork -more than ever, even. So I checked links around Youtube for kicks.

The day I brainwashed [livejournal.com profile] arcadia_, she was showing an episode of the infamous Zelda cartoon. How about this video? It's so awful it'll make your ears bleed, yet so pathetic you have to laugh even as a self-defense mechanism. Me? My ribcage hurts now XD

After the house smackdown, I feel like watching the CCS anime. If it wasn't 3:00 and so in the morning, I would watch my favorite episode, #68. But the catch is, I want to watch the Mexican dub with the sexy Yue voice (Mexican CCS is a weird dub in the sense I actually like a big percentage of their voices as much as or better than the original; exceptions are the sun guardians as they make me crawl to a corner and raise mushrooms when in Spanish T_T). Youtube provides, but it's not the hour to drool on a monitor. I'll save the link for later, though.

And thinking about seiyuus, my mind goes OT and decides Johan from Monster is creepier than even brain-eating psychopaths (including Hannibal and Sylar) just because he got voiced by Nozomu Sasaki *shudders*. Damn, this man could pull Eriol's dual nature perfectly, although it always felt so wrong to me. And I think I now understand why: I prefered the Mexican VA. The duality from the original gets lost, as he only did one tone, but his voice suits fine and it's hotter, and I can feel better perving in since it's not either pseudo-psycho childish or weird deep.

I should rewatch the original as well. I can't quite remember Clow's Japanese voice, and that's my only excuse.

By the way, during the Mienai Chizu sequence with the flowers blooming? THERE'S A TREE OF MAGNOLIAS. AJHJGJHGSK.
