taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Zashiki Warashi)
I'd realized this morning that I haven't spread out well the horrors of Lickitung!Mokona. Well, here it is. Actual screencap from XXXHOLiC TV. *shudders*

[livejournal.com profile] river_nile tagged me:

List ten things that have recently made you happy, then tag ten people to do the same.

1. I've said it in several other places, but this Okami AMV ♥ (Laurus, there is sparkly!Waka over there... lots of it)
2. The Avatar episode last Friday was good.
3. ...But what I really liked was the spoiler preview for this week. Swords <3
4. Sinfest strips focused on the lil' Buddha, like this one. I find him so adorable.
5. Watching The Wind Waker's ending at youtube, because I never got to finish the game and Phantom Hourglass is coming out in Europe in a couple of weeks. I was actually satisfied with WW's ending, even if a bit cheesy. It fits the game, and Tetra went back to be a pirate! Also, is it me, or is this the Zelda game with the most plausible Zelda/Link for post-canon?
6. That there was wank over Zero Punctuation game videoreviews. I find them hilarious.
7. My new MP3 player.
8. Reading a new book. Pyramids is going good so far.
9. Speaking of which, Laurus' crossover with the Lancre witches and Clow Reed :D I can't search for the link now, but it was hilarious.
A. Watching Futurama in English. Tied with playing We Love Katamari, because both are good crack. ETA: Changed my mind! I'll choose "More Mononoke subbed" for $100, Alec.
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Team Aang / group hug)
As some of you know, TurboNick are teasing bitches and uploaded Avatar 3x02. Yes, Friday's episode! So I'm giving you the heads up for those who aren't in America like me and can't watch it over there.

The Headband

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] river_nile for telling!

I'll make an entry when I rewatch it this weekend in high quality, but I loved it! It was so, so shiny~~

And in other order of news,
1. Gintama manga was licensed in Spain by Glenat
2. The Slayers novels couldn't be licensed in the end, woes
3. SEEDS (before Studio CLOVER) was bought by this other company and were renamed to PLATINUM. Yuck.

Back to less srs business, such as high school AU Waka roleplaying.
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Hiro / Nerds may be badass)
Holy crap, my university now has a Master degree on Digital Creation and Communications. That including graphics and animation and web design, between other stuff. You know what? When I graduate from this shit, I might as well try to get in. I'm not sure I might be able to take the actual Master course as I'm doing a tech career, but there's also this 'Expert In' degree that has lower requirements. The only difference being the number of total credits/courses, and the Master people must also do practice job on companies while the Expert don't (aww, I sort of want to do that).

Anyway. I spent 11 hours yesterday, finding a copy of Heroes 2x01 I could download, not on MU, not over 400MB, not to be pasted back with spyware-filled software, not stopping in the middle. Eleven fucking hours, people. If this happens next week, I'll take their hands and twist their fingers until it hurts.

SPOILERS~! )

And this made me LOL: M. Night's self-cameo in the live-action Avatar movie? Perhaps XDDDD
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Iroh / don't worry be happy now)
I can't believe how unproductive I've been during this year's summer vacation. The websites I could've finished/updated! The fanfics I could've written! The icons I could've made! Meanwhile, I just stared at the screen, with null motivation -do not confuse with inspiration: I had plenty of that-, and only watching stuff in a lethargic state. And sometimes playing games or reading books.

What happened to me? When I'm in classes I'm too depressed or busy to work on my Internet hobbies. When I'm free or happy, I don't feel like doing anything. Am I getting old?

I watched Denno Coil 14-16 today, and I'm pleased to see plot going on. I called 4423's identity, but not... his current state, you know. Damn.

I also watched Mononoke 8, and I'm liking this arc. Looking forward to see the conclusion.

Now I'll leave you with fanart recs. rufftoon @ dA was the one who drew the Bosco comic at Nick Magazine. Her gallery, mostly Avatar-centric, is pretty neat, and her comic strips are quite funny. There's also a HP/Garfield crossover going on that made me choke on laughter XD

And now I'll try to work on a website update. Or I hope so...

ETA: I should comment about the Ouran spoilers for chapter 55, but it can basically be summed up as OMGSQUEEEE. Anything coherent I could say would sound obnoxious. So for your comodity, I went fanbrat-mode on [livejournal.com profile] hamsterfactor's journal instead.
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Vivi / best desert princess ever)
I'm absolutely unable to get annoyed for a long time today. It's been a great day. Not even when the ice cream cone I bought broke and fell to the ground before I could taste it. Hell, I can't even find things to complain on next week's Tsubasa spoilers! (although WTF the non-K/F part ;_·). I'm not even sad my icon at [livejournal.com profile] clamp_lims is the worst one with a difference and I'll get expelled next week.

The Avatar and the The IT Crowd episode were great. I agree the Maiko part was out of the blue, but everything else was peachy. Incidentally, I'm glad I happened to read the Nick Magazine comic strips days before I watched this. Does that mean those comics are actually canon? Because I'm totally taking the Earth King & Bosco one as such (and LOL the ending with forest hippy vibes appeared as it was on the episode X'DDDDDDD). And with them, I still don't buy Maiko.

So I went to the city today to have lunch outside and spend a last day out for this summer. It was a pretty relaxing walk. I also went on shopping spree at FNAC. I got two Discworld books ("Pyramids" and "Guards! Guards!", finally!), and two Futurama seasons on DVD.
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (EVENT ICON)
Some of you have seen it already, but Avatar Roku rocks even harder than he already does. Yay flashbacks *_* Season 3 come here faster plz.

And another thing I had to search on youtube as soon as I watched this. ANTIPIRACY SPOOF:

Oh, The IT Crowd ♥
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Team Aang / group hug)
1. I feel all polemic... almost:

Hah, I still haven't replied on the Evangelion comments because it's such a subjective issue I don't know what to say XD I do assure you I a) never took it as a 'religion' or teh bestest anime evah when I was eighteen, and b) am *also* liking the manga canon better. I can't argue about the Shinji thing because it's a personal preference, and I can see why he annoys a lot of people.

Also, I'm wondering if the origins of why I can't get into the wooden-faced, silent-and-devoted type of characters may lay on Rei Ayanami. But never mind about my own peeves, or why Rei rubbed me the wrong way in the old days, because that's also subjective.

Ah! And I've always wanted to watch Escaflowne, by the way. I never really considered it mecha because it's more fantasy than anything, though. Kinda like Rayearth, actually.

2. On this season's anime:

I started Denno Coil today out of curiosity. I've only watched two episodes so I can't say a lot, but so far it's been quite appealing to me. Also, screw cyberpets: I want to have a Mojo. They're like... so fluffy! With the antenna! Gah, I was squeeing every time they were on screen, even though they're kinda creepy whatever they are (don't spoil me).

I tried to check Baccano!, but I found no uploaded episodes on the stream sites I know. I'll check Mononoke when I'm up to date with Coil.

Lovely Complex is still my guilty pleasure. *facepalm* Sigh.

3. And now some Avatar shit:

There's a HQ version (not cam recorded) of the season 3 trailer. Awesome sauce. Can't wait till September! D: Also, you Earth King (or Bosco, or Sokka) fans -you know who you are- might want to check this out XDDDDD LOLarious.

4. And speaking of ANOTHER king with glasses...

Continuing with the OMGWTFBBQness of yesterday's reaction to the Tsubasa deluxe cover, I must add something.

Clow/Eriol's original sun staff has eleven points. King Clow's has nine. As I see it, either:

a) we cling to the possibility it's not the same staff, for sanity's sake! yay!

b) or Mokona forgot how many points it had ¬_¬

Back!

Back home. So, we went to the summer carnival in El Burgo last night. Since I still have teeth problems, I just rode the ferris wheel, thinking it was tame, but wasn't exactly an easy ride since it was totally unstable and fast and made with shabby materials. Ugh.

Also, the giant speakers with techno music (each speaker playing a different song, to make it more special) were made of special. Oh, sonic pollution...

At least my mom bought me two bags in the flea market. One is a bluish gray messenger bag, the other a black tote bag. I like them a lot, and can't wait to use them. She wanted to get me a black leather handbag, but everything she'd show me was too adult for my style (yes, I'm aware I'm 25 and I lack an actual style, shut up).

Brother Danny bought a bow with arrows and a gun that shoots little balls. No, I'm not kidding. Yeah, it is creepy. He's not aiming at people, but it's still scary. Hopefully he'll run out of ammo soon.

So! I'm looking forward to September and the third Avatar season. It looks so fucked up and badass, even with Aang's interesting hair. (Also, are Zutarians wanking yet? XD)

And now I'll reply to pending comments. Oh, and allow me to be an attention whore and re-plug first impressions meme.

ETA: Oh, and I just saw this plugged on my flistflist. Evangelion/Suzumiya crossovers!

Zankoku na Tenshi no you ni, with Suzumiya characters.

Hare Hare no Yukai, danced by EVA units! If Gundams can, why can't they?
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Iroh / don't worry be happy now)
[livejournal.com profile] ayasugi_san showed me this (part 2, but less cracktacular). Avatar creators making an exposition about pairings and smushed names XDDDDDDDD

So it's official: Iroh and Foaming Mouth Guy are at least as pimp as Sokka!

More interview meme. This time for Alanna.

Guilty pleasures, ice cream, showing places, pictures of me, anime songs )

Re: The Avatar cracky school clip going around.

I think the Horitsuba dramas jaded me. Now I seem to be incapable of seeing canon high school AUs like something silly. I had to be pointed out this one is a parody, because I truly thought the creators made this chibifest for fanservice and shipper bait's sake. Thinking more carefully, yeah, they truly did it for the lulz. But I failed to see that.

Oh, and chibis in anime don't seem to have an effect on me. For that, however, I don't blame CLAMP but BONES and their FMA "OVAs". They even look kinds ridiculous to me. I'm going to see those damned chibis in Avatar icons forever, aren't I?

But anyway, GIP. Because school counselor!Iroh was IC and the win, and his new VA sounds perfect.

Change of subject.

You know, my main email account's spam mail is becoming too weird. I mean, besides the offers for viagra, low financial rates, PS3's, and sex, the rest is... I don't know, the subject lines look like the sender was on crack or they just babelfished it from a random language. Even the average Engrish has more grammar than this. Some samples I've saved:

I really shouldn't be fangirling after the cliffhangers (then again, the Zuko fangirls are still drooling and the Zutara faction are celebrating for next week), but here's one screencap from Avatar 2x18.

I don't think it's spoilerish at all )

Number of long-haired kings with glasses in my fandoms = 2
Number of Clow (both versions) lookalikes in my fandoms = 2

Anyway, I still have to fangirl this week's Heroes and what I've read so far of One Piece (now that we're mentioning Alabasta and stuff...) I wanted to wait until [livejournal.com profile] hamsterfactor was back, but I really want to rant.
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Toph)
I'm so relieved. I'm the happiest one, actually; I needed this for ages. Hyatt, Alanna, thank you so much for bearing with me and letting me go.

Guys, if you want to watch Avatar 2x17 and don't live in the USA, you can find Youtube links to the whole thing here. The episode is sooooooo good.

What a slow weekend. It shows all my Spanish friends are at the Barcelona manga con. Woe. But hey, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow I'll have fun. I'm buying manga and starting new collections (ZOMG FMA and MaLoki) on Monday, and I'm going to my mom's on Tuesday to celebrate Halloween (I'll be a pumpkin monster, like last year). So I might be absent on Wednesday as I'm staying the night there. And also, I have no fucking idea when I'm downloading this week's Heroes *cries*

I'm hoping I can start my new fic and write for challenges on November. But the WIP needs a title...

Random fact I just noticed and nobody cares about: Kaho got her ears pierced in England.

Oh, and the person who edited my icon deleted all the proofs. I LOLed.
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Default)
Books were shipped this morning :D

Last Friday's Avatar episode was just so awesome I wouldn't know from where to start.

Yuna and Tidus from FFX are retarded. "Come on, practice your laughter!" "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!1!" "...okay, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!" And then they LOLed while the rest of the party is like "...WTF" Perhaps with a lot of facepalm while we weren't watching. Gotta love annoying main characters. Except not. I was dying of embarrassment, and I'm not even inside the game.

About the HOLiC filler episode (#9) )

Haven't it happened to you guys? Just during exam time, you get into a new book/manga/anime/TV show/movie and fixate and read/watch it all, and you're suddenly liking it too much than it's healthy during exam time? And it distracts you?

Because that's the story of my life. Not happy with my new-found love for Good Omens, I had to go and read with no reason... the first series of Saiyuki. Finished volume 9 last night.

I liked the story a lot, actually, so I'll be following the rest when I procrastinate from studying I'm less busy. It's Gaiden first, then Reload. Right?

And I have a huge crush on Sanzo. He's too hot. Eeeeeee. I bet you were expecting me to physically like Hakkai better. So did I; this came as a surprise. But Sanzo can be so pretty~

Avatar 2x08 spoilers )

I'll go watch Ouran to cheer up D: When is the next Avatar episode on, anyway?
taotrooper: It's a polar bear dancing the hula; your argument is invalid (Sheik / Nocturne)
I have a poll about my icons here. Just in case somebody wants to vote. so far, nobody wants me to do anything I'm into, woe

Oh, I just watched the Super Smash Bros Brawl trailer. OH. MY. GOD. It just rocked my socks so much. Nintendo and HAL, you fuckers, you just bought me a Wii (harhar.) So awesome. I'm a bit depressed, though, because even though Twilight Princess!Link is so hawt, my favorite Link will always be OoT!Link. Does anybody know if OoT!Zelda/Sheik will make a comeback? I'll sulk if she doesn't.

But hey, I have no complains about the new characters. I love Pit's design, he's such a cutey. Metaknight is awesome and Samus looks sexy without her armor. And my brothers will have a blast with Solid Snake -ROFL at him hidden inside the box during the trailer- and Wario -cue nasty fart jokes.

And who else thought Kirby didn't change a bit during the "transformation" sequence? He looked the same to me XDDD He didn't even look more round.

I might as well post my impressions, yeah. Cut for spoilers up to 2x02, just in case )

Don't let the subject line fool you. No, it's not an RP post for [livejournal.com profile] tomoeda_drama. Not this time.

I don't remember who on my flist mentioned about watching a series on YouTube.com, which you all must know since is the newest Internet evil and stuff. So far, I've only used it to watch AMVs and clips people have recced. (There was one about two guys who dressed up as Tux the penguin, went to a Microsoft event and started handing open source CDs to people. LOLZ.)

So, since a lot of people in my flist have been fangirling Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I have no cable in my room, and the torrents for the first season are humongous DVD rips...

Well, yeah. I'm watching a cartoon series over YouTube. I've watched two episodes so far, and it looks interesting so far. It's one of those series I would've loved as a kid. I'm a sucker for the four elements.

It's still too early to pick favorite characters yet. So far, I'm not disliking anyone.
